The plan didn't work out, and instead, we ended up in an argument. 0

When we arrived at the dining table, I noticed a seat left empty between Lin Mu Xi and Ouyang Zhirou. Without a second thought, I knew that spot was meant for me. If I sat elsewhere, those two would likely start bickering again. To ensure a peaceful meal, I had no choice but to comply. 0

"Hey, Old Hu, where's your dad?" 0

"I don't know; he was just sitting there." 0

Seeing that I was taking too long to sit down, the tension between the two women sparked immediately. Realizing this, I decided to sit down quickly to calm them both. 0

"By the way, Xiao Lun, could you go to the study and call your dad down?" 0

"Them? It seems Old Zhao went over to chat with Wang Ju'en." 0

As I approached the door to knock, they were just coming out of the study. Wang Ju'en and Old Zhao were laughing and chatting with Ouyang Xiong, which piqued my curiosity about what they had been discussing. 0

Then a muscular man appeared behind them. This was the first time I had seen someone so imposing; if he threw a punch, there was a good chance he could kill me with one blow. 0

This must be Hu Yao's father. No wonder Hu Yao was so fierce in fights; he could take on several opponents without breaking a sweat. It turns out he comes from such a strong lineage. 0

When they reached the stairs, Wang Ju'en suddenly turned around and looked at me with a flirtatious smile. "Xiao Zhao, who are you waiting for over there?" 0

Hearing this made my face instantly fall. Who are you talking to? Am I familiar with you? 0

I brushed past them and returned to the dining table first. The moment I sat down, everyone noticed my poor expression, especially Lin Mu Xi and Ouyang Zhirou sitting on either side of me. 0

"That little rascal! Don't stoop to his level," Old Zhao said when he saw my face. He immediately turned to Wang Ju'en and said something silently while nodding with a smile. 0

As soon as their group settled down, Old Zhao raised his glass and thanked everyone for coming to my home for dinner in honor of Zhao Changsheng. He didn’t say much else; it was clear he just wanted to drink. In one swift motion, he downed his glass of liquor as if it were nothing more than water. 0

Everyone else followed suit without hesitation; those with better tolerance drank just like Old Zhao. This included my grandparents, Ouyang Xiong, Lin Tian, Hu Yao and his father, as well as Wang Ju'en. 0

After finishing her drink, Wang Ju'en felt like her throat was on fire and quickly grabbed a glass of water from the table. 0

Ouyang Zhirou immediately chimed in, "This is strong liquor! Do you really think it's like that watered-down stuff from abroad?" 0

This girl had a sharp tongue; she spared no one in her remarks. At that moment, her words sounded like music to my ears. 0

Everyone else couldn’t believe what they were hearing—Ouyang Zhirou actually said something like that! Meanwhile, Ouyang Xiong laughed heartily and said, "My precious daughter has been spoiled by me! Come on, let’s keep drinking!" It wasn't that he didn’t want to stop her; it was simply beyond his control. 0

"Ha ha ha! Little sister speaks so interestingly!" Wang Ju'en said nonchalantly as she sat back down. Just as she did, Lin Mu Xi slipped a piece of ginger into her bowl. 0

"Miss Wang, long time no see! This is a unique delicacy from our Dragon Kingdom—ginger! You must not have had this living abroad for so long. Why not give it a try?" 0

As soon as those words left her mouth, Lin Tian's face twisted in disbelief; his mouth twitched repeatedly. "My daughter! What are you doing? Even though we have Zhao Changsheng backing us now, we still can't afford to offend the Wang family." 0

Not only Lin Tian, but everyone present was taken aback. Wang Ju'en, after a long time of not seeing Miss Lin, took a bite of the ginger that Lin Mu Xi had offered and immediately exclaimed, "Oh, this sour radish is so good! Don't eat it, it's really delicious!" 0

What?! Ginger? Delicious?! This was something I had never even touched since childhood, and she actually thought it was tasty?! 0

Old Zhao was completely confused by her words. What did she mean? 0

Old Zhao didn't understand any English, so I quickly explained to him, "It's nothing; she's just telling you not to eat the sour radish." 0

As soon as I said this, the whole room erupted in laughter, with some people choking on their drinks. 0
