People rushed into their air-conditioned homes, attempting to escape the dreadful heat. Yet even so, they could still feel the oppressive heat seeping through walls and windows. The once bustling streets became sparse, with only a few individuals forced to venture out for work or errands. They donned sun hats and carried umbrellas, fully equipped to battle the sweltering temperatures.
It is well-known that Qing Su is not just a name but a testament to its fiery summers! Each summer, the relentless heat could almost steam a person alive. Initially, however, people did not seem overly concerned. After all, for locals accustomed to such sweltering weather, it was merely a minor episode in their summer lives.
They occasionally grumbled about the unbearable heat but continued with their daily routines. Most chose to hide away in air-conditioned rooms to enjoy the rare comfort and coolness. As for natural disasters like Mountain Fire? Who would think much about that? At that time, they hardly considered such possibilities; after all, such events were rare and unlikely to cross their minds. Thus, under the blazing sun, life in the city continued as if nothing had changed.
In August, however, an unexpected situation quietly unfolded as Mountain Fire outbreaks erupted across various regions including Fuling, Nan Chuan, Jiangjin, and Ba Nan. Initially, people did not worry too much, thinking these fires would extinguish within half a day or a day at most. After all, since they could remember, they had heard about Mountain Fire incidents nationwide and had even participated in rescue efforts before. Yet this time was different.
An unimaginable event occurred! On what seemed like an ordinary day in August, shocking news swept through: Mountain Fire outbreaks were occurring frequently! Local news media erupted with coverage of this event from every angle.
Newspaper headlines blared on front pages; television news rolled continuously with updates; radio stations broadcasted every detail about the Mountain Fire, tugging at people's hearts. What was incredibly heartening and uplifting was that when recruitment information was released, it was like lightning piercing through the dark night sky—instantly capturing countless gazes and stirring deep-seated emotions within everyone. They were seasoned veterans or passionate newcomers; some were business owners while others were ordinary workers—but at that moment they all shared one belief: to stand up against adversity!
On the very day recruitment concluded, everyone immediately set about preparing essential supplies and high-quality equipment. Simultaneously, we raced against time to connect with local governments in the affected Disaster Area and emergency management departments to ensure smooth communication and obtain the most accurate and up-to-date information on the disaster so we could effectively carry out subsequent rescue operations.
