In the kitchen, two pots of grass jelly were just prepared, and Qi Chong, having washed his hands covered in Mi Jiang, came to cook. He was making noodle soup today because it was quick. Before the staff arrived to collect goods at the hour of the snake, the two pots in the kitchen could still produce another batch of grass jelly.
The family was bustling about, completely forgetting about Chen Ruolan's girl in the room. Yu Chunmiao called into the kitchen, "Yuan Er, the girl is awake!" She didn't want to take credit for Qi Yuan's efforts.
Coming out with Qi Yuan was also Qi Rong. Wu Shengnan had seen the two brothers before and quickly bowed, saying, "Thank you for saving me. My name is Wu Shengnan."
At that moment, Qian Duo Duo approached; he had grown tall and strong. Qi Rong was worried he might scare Wu Shengnan and was about to shoo him away when unexpectedly, she crouched down and embraced Qian Duo Duo tightly, continuously rubbing his head.

Qian Duo Duo had no ill intentions towards strangers but wasn't particularly affectionate either. He wriggled free and went to find Qi Rong instead.
Qi Yuan stood there in a daze without much to say. Seeing Wu Shengnan looking disheveled, Yu Chunmiao decided to take her to wash up and comb her hair. They had bought toothbrushes at home but only had a few because they were expensive.
Yu Chunmiao handed her a Liu Zhi and said, "We don't have any extra toothbrushes at home; you'll have to make do with this one."
Wu Shengnan took the Liu Zhi, dipped it in water and tooth powder, and began chewing. With a muffled voice, she said, "Thank you. I'm not picky. What's your name? How old are you? Should I call you sister or younger sister?"
Yu Chunmiao helped her fetch water and replied, "My name is Yu Chunmiao; I'm sixteen."
Wu Shengnan spat out some residue and asked, "I just had my birthday; how about you?"
Yu Chunmiao answered, "My birthday is in spring; I've already celebrated it."
"Then I should call you Sister."
After washing her face, Yu Chunmiao led the person inside to comb her hair.
As Wu Shengnan entered the room, she immediately noticed the bow hanging on the wall. "That's a fine bow. Does someone in your family serve as a military officer?" she asked, reaching out to grab it.
Yu Chunmiao quickly stopped her. "This is a relic of my father-in-law. He received it as a gift from Shangguan when he retired. My husband treasures it very much, so it's best if you don't touch it."
While combing her hair, Wu Shengnan kept chatting. "Your house has such a pleasant fragrance. Is your husband the one who saved me? Oh, it's Second Uncle! Oh, and Qi Yuan! Oh, Qian Duo Duo! Oh, Beishan Village!"
She tied her hair up with a quick twist and secured it with a hairband, finishing faster than Yu Chunmiao could manage.
Yu Chunmiao couldn't help but compliment her, "That high ponytail looks great."
Wu Shengnan stood up and said, "I can't style my hair; as a maid, this is all I can do. Sister, can you do it? No, even if you can, you shouldn't help me; you're not my maid."
Yu Chunmiao felt quite outgoing herself but realized that Wu Shengnan was even more extroverted, almost like she had a bit of social anxiety mixed with confidence.
