Wang Lei, although not greeting her with a smile, had a very gentle demeanor. "You're awake? Are you hungry?"
Zhao Fei tried to sit up but winced and lay back down, her whole body aching.
"What's wrong?" Wang Lei sat at the edge of the bed, his voice filled with concern.
"I'm sorry for bringing you to the hospital," he said, feeling a bit guilty at her words.
"Who told you to apologize, you idiot?" Zhao Fei pulled the blanket over her head and shouted, forgetting that she was the one at fault.
After a long silence, Zhao Fei thought he had left and felt a bit angry. "What a jerk, taking advantage of me without even softening up."
When she finally lifted the blanket and peeked out, she saw Wang Lei still sitting in the same spot.
In her heart, Zhao Fei reassured herself that it was just a nap; it wasn't a big deal. Stubbornly, she threw off the blanket and got out of bed.
As she stood up, she stumbled slightly. Wang Lei quickly stood up and caught her in his arms, effortlessly draping a men's robe over her shoulders. "Can you walk?"
After all, she had just woken up from a nap. Zhao Fei felt as if his voice had made her ears tingle, and her face involuntarily flushed red as she softly replied with an "mm-hmm."
After they finished eating, Wang Lei placed a white pill in front of her. "This is an emergency medication; you need to take it."
Seeing that Zhao Fei didn't move, he added, "It was my fault last night; it won't happen again."
Hearing this made Zhao Fei want to grab her cup and splash water on him. "I bought this just now; I won't let you take medicine next time."
Her mood suddenly brightened at the thought of there being a next time.
By evening, they tacitly agreed to stay together.
After two days, Zhao Fei had mostly recovered and began teasing Wang Lei again.
Wang Lei accepted her as his girlfriend without hesitation and couldn't hold back any longer; they spent a passionate night together.
On the seventh day of the new year, Zhao Fei said, "I'm inviting Li Hao and Lin Xiao out for dinner."
Wang Lei didn't have many relatives or close friends and wanted to introduce Zhao Fei to them.
Zhao Fei was reluctant to meet them; she felt it was unnecessary since they were just sleeping together. She hadn't thought too much about it yet and pretended to be asleep instead.
On the sixth day of the new year, she quickly packed up and joined the film crew, leaving their dinner plans unresolved.
