She knew that her last difficult labor had left a significant shadow in Li Hao's heart, just as it had created an unresolved pain within her.
At eight o'clock in the evening, Li Hao urged Lin Xiao to wash up and go to bed. Lin Xiao sighed, realizing she would have to endure another long night.
As Lin Xiao took her time washing up, she occasionally caught Li Hao's gaze on her, feeling both startled and shy. If looks could speak, she felt she had already been through several rounds of his scrutiny.
"Lin Xiao, you've been in and out ten times already," Li Hao said, putting down his book and walking toward the bed. "Aren't you coming over?"
Lin Xiao wrapped herself in her robe and sat on the bed.
"Why are you acting like a little girl, all shy and hesitant?" Li Hao leaned closer, biting her ear gently.
Lin Xiao felt a wave of tingling sensations wash over her and couldn't help but whimper as she turned off the light.
"If you don't turn it off tonight, let me take a good look at you," Li Hao murmured, burying his head in her neck.
With the small nightlight still on, Lin Xiao's breath began to quicken.
Li Hao couldn't bear to leave the soft warmth of her body and continued his teasing.
"Honey, turn off the light," Lin Xiao said, her voice laced with longing.
How could Li Hao resist such a plea? He quickly turned off the light and pounced back toward her.
Taking advantage of the moment when he turned off the light, Lin Xiao slipped off her robe.
When Li Hao turned back around, he was met with the sight of her thin silk nightgown barely covering her most intimate areas. The warm orange glow was utterly captivating.
Li Hao felt warmth pooling at his nose as blood rushed to his head.
Lost in the atmosphere, Lin Xiao was startled by Li Hao's sudden exclamation of frustration. Confused, she saw him frantically grabbing tissues from the bedside table to wipe his nose and quickly crawled over to him from the bed.
Seeing Lin Xiao worryingly approach him only made his nosebleed worse. Her unconscious movements revealed every enticing detail of that sheer fabric, a deadly temptation for him.
Li Hao stood up and headed to the bathroom.
Lin Xiao felt a mix of amusement and concern as she slipped on her robe and followed him there.
When Lin Xiao entered, Li Hao was standing under the shower, rinsing the blood from his nose.
Seeing Lin Xiao come in, the blood rushed to both ends, and he approached her.
Still hesitating, Lin Xiao was pulled under the water. You're not a kid anymore; why are you being so impulsive? Li Hao thought. This is karma; just earlier, he had said she wasn't a little girl anymore, yet here she was, acting shy.
The bathrobe had already slipped to the floor, and warm mist filled the bathroom, gradually fogging up the glass as their two figures intertwined and shifted continuously.
Time passed without notice until Lin Xiao finally said hoarsely, "I'm tired."
The shower continued to flow incessantly as Li Hao helped Lin Xiao rinse off again before carrying her to bed.
He thought it was over, but little did he know that Li Hao would come back for more.
Lin Xiao lay limply on the bed.
"Be good; I’ll be quick," Li Hao coaxed Lin Xiao, starting a new round of their battle.
A thousand words were omitted here.
After midnight, Lin Xiao hoarsely said weakly, "Li Hao, do you want to ruin me?"
"Not at all! I'm just getting my tasks done ahead of time."
A drop of sweat fell onto Lin Xiao's face.
She thought to herself that even a production team donkey wouldn't work as hard as he did. This was exhausting; she felt like a worn-out grinding wheel.
