When Lin Xiao entered the living room, Ji Quan You was not there. As she looked around, a voice came from inside, "Xiao Lin, come in."
"Town Chief Ji, I’ve placed the documents on your desk," Lin Xiao said, preparing to leave.
Ji Quan You emerged wearing autumn clothes, reeking of alcohol, and with a lewd expression, he reached out to grab Lin Xiao.
Lin Xiao had never imagined that a government official would act so aggressively towards her. The greatest danger she anticipated was the harassment of drunken words.

As Lin Xiao's struggles weakened, Ji Quan You's hand slipped under her clothing, making contact with her skin.
Outside, Xu Ran waited for three or four minutes without seeing Lin Xiao come out and decided to enter the room directly.
Upon seeing the situation inside, blood rushed to Xu Ran's head; he kicked Ji Quan You hard and then pulled him away before starting to beat him mercilessly, cursing him as a worthless scoundrel.
Xu Ran pinned Ji Quan You down and continued to strike him until he grew tired and finally remembered Lin Xiao. "Are you okay?" he asked as he noticed Lin Xiao’s disheveled appearance and the blood trickling down her cheek.
Xu Ran pulled out his phone to call the police.
Ji Quan You lay on the ground half-conscious and arrogantly said, "Go ahead and report it; if you call the police, she’ll be ruined."
Xu Ran helped Lin Xiao up and asked if he had succeeded in his intentions.
Lin Xiao shook her head; there were too many layers of clothing for winter, and there hadn’t been enough time for Ji Quan You to do anything significant. But his hand had touched her clothing and caressed her; she had also been kissed.
Xu Ran threatened Ji Quan You that if he spoke about what happened today, he would regret it, while also taking several photos as evidence.
He insisted on taking Lin Xiao to the hospital for a check-up, but she refused; she didn’t want anyone else to know about this incident.

Ji Quan You's face turned crimson from Xu Ran's insult, and he called the police to the scene.
The surveillance footage from Ji Quan You's entrance that night captured Lin Xiao entering first, followed by Xu Ran, and then both of them leaving together. This evidence didn’t prove much, but it was noted that Ji Quan You went to a clinic later that night.
Ji Quan You explained that he had helped Lin Xiao's hometown secure a piece of land, and she came to express her gratitude, which Xu Ran discovered and subsequently beat him up.
The story became a tangled web; the townspeople did not believe Ji Quan You but were reluctant to offend him. Historically, matters between men and women were often dismissed as trivial by men.
They merely remarked that "a fly does not land on an egg without cracks," recalling all of Ji Quan You's previous attentions towards Lin Xiao with embellishments.
Later on, Xu Ran's mother, Wu Juan, approached Lin Xiao and urged her to stay away from her son, subtly mentioning her disapproval of their situation. At that time, they were quite good friends, with the potential for their relationship to develop into something more romantic.
