The five words caught Yun Yi's eye, and his heart raced uncontrollably: this was the magical equipment he had seen in the game. The Immortal Totem was an item with special abilities; when used at a critical moment, it could save the bearer’s life once and eliminate death penalties.
The Immortal Totem not only enhanced vitality recovery and damage absorption but also provided fire resistance. The combination of these three effects made it exceptionally valuable. In the game, this item was almost godlike in its existence, and acquiring it was extremely difficult. Unless one activated creative mode, it could only be obtained by defeating the Summoner in the Forest Fortress.
However, in real life, places like the Forest Fortress did not exist, nor could one encounter a Summoner. Therefore, for Yun Yi, obtaining the Immortal Totem was undoubtedly a significant event. Yet he felt a bit puzzled: why did the Immortal Totem in his backpack have "not activated" marked on it? Did this mean that its current state could not take effect and that specific conditions needed to be met for it to work? Yun Yi believed this assumption was correct, but he wanted to know what those conditions were. Moreover, not all sculptures could be transformed into an Immortal Totem; at least for now, Yun Yi was uncertain about this and needed further experimentation to verify.
Thus, Yun Yi looked up and asked Zhao Feng beside him, “Do you have any other statues?”
Zhao Feng was somewhat confused and did not understand why this immortal would ask such a question, but he answered truthfully: “No, I only carved this one after I woke up.”
“It doesn’t have to be my statue; any sculpture will do.”
Hearing Yun Yi's words, Zhao Feng scratched his head again: “Well, I did carve some small animals before; that should be fine, right?”
Yun Yi nodded in agreement.
At that moment, Zhao Li suddenly spoke up: “Immortal, my brother Zhao An should still have another statue of you.”
“Where is it?” Yun Yi turned to look at Zhao Li.
Zhao Li pointed his chin toward Zhao An not far away: “It’s at my elder brother’s place. A few days ago, he was bragging about it being the only statue of you he has. It’s indeed a rare item in our home.”
Upon hearing this, Yun Yi immediately directed his gaze toward Zhao An.
Faced with everyone's attention, Zhao An appeared somewhat awkward. He stroked his beard but still admitted: “Yes, I have it. If you need it now…”
Yun Yi nodded: “Exactly, I need it right now.”
“Then my house is over there.”
Zhao An turned to Zhao Feng and said, "Feng, do you know where that statue is? If it's on your way, could you bring it along as well?"
Zhao Feng nodded and quickly returned home. During this time, Yun Yi attempted to take the statue out and put it back several times, but it seemed he couldn't find a way to activate the Immortal Totem.
Before long, Zhao Feng hurried back with several wood carvings in his arms and handed them to Yun Yi. "These are all wood carvings I made. There are a total of seven."
After saying this, he added quietly, "And there's one that belongs to the immortal; that's my proudest piece, but I ended up keeping it for myself."
Then, Zhao Feng carefully took out a palm-sized wood carving from his clothing. It looked very similar to the one he had shown before, except this one was unpainted.
"This kid has gotten quite bold," Zhao An remarked disapprovingly upon seeing this.
Yun Yi smiled at Zhao Feng and said, "Don't worry about your family; if there are any issues, I'll have your back."
Hearing such words, Zhao Feng's face lit up with a smile, and he seemed to stand a little taller.
Yun Yi took all the wood carvings and placed them into his backpack. However, contrary to his expectations, these wood carvings did not transform into the Immortal Totem; instead, they remained ordinary items piled in the bag without any change.
Yun Yi furrowed his brow. Why did the first wood carving turn into an Immortal Totem while the others did not? What was different about them? Or perhaps...
