Will lay on the stretcher, cursing incessantly. Two soldiers struggled to carry the stretcher, laboring through the rugged countryside road.
Will could hardly believe that as an Transcendent Knight and a nobleman of the count's lineage, he would suffer such a great loss in such a remote area. His heart was filled with anger and resentment, yet he felt utterly helpless.
Despite his usual demeanor as a carefree and reckless young man, Will had a discerning eye. He understood that the being who had defeated him with ease was no ordinary foe; they were undoubtedly of Epic level strength. What shocked him even more was that even the seemingly ordinary Baron John was also an Epic-level knight.
Thinking of this, Will couldn't help but curse again: "Damn it, what kind of place is this? Hiding such powerful beings! Pretending to be ordinary while actually being part of a count's territory. How insidious!"
As they moved further away from Salted Fish Territory, Will finally felt a slight sense of relief. He thought he might lose his life here, but now he sensed a glimmer of safety.

Unfortunately, things rarely went as one hoped. How could John let someone like him go so easily? As Will fled like a startled bird, an inexplicable fear surged within him.
He sensed that in the deep shadows around him, there seemed to be pairs of eyes watching him intently. A chill ran down his spine, causing him to shudder involuntarily. Terrified, he quickly ordered his soldiers to gather around him tightly for protection. With his remaining hand, he gripped his weapon firmly, not daring to relax for even a moment.
In the blink of an eye, dark figures appeared around Will like phantoms. Their eyes glowed with a chilling red light as they wielded various gleaming weapons.
Faced with this group of eerie beings, Will's heart was filled with worry and panic. He widened his eyes and trembled as he demanded, "Who are you?"
In response, there was only silence; the shadows stood still, not moving an inch.
Then, a soft sound broke the tension as the figures surrounding Will parted to create a pathway. A girl around seventeen or eighteen years old stepped into the center of the crowd. She moved gracefully, her features delicate yet her gaze held an indescribable malice.
"Allow me to introduce myself," she said with a sly smile playing on her lips. "I am Xiao Yu, the Queen of the Black Shadow Legion. Perhaps you are not familiar with this title, but that's alright."
She paused for effect before her smile widened further. "To put it another way, my superior is Baron John. Now you should understand our identities."
Will's face turned pale as he grasped the implications. His grip on his weapon tightened; he had no intention of engaging in idle chatter. If escape was impossible, then he would fight—he certainly didn't believe he couldn't defeat such a young girl.
