John stared suspiciously at the motionless Ling Hai Gu, pondering to himself: what could possibly cause them to be so quiet? However, faced with such a rare opportunity, how could John let it slip away easily? He firmly plunged his One-Handed Sword into the hard ground and swiftly formed seals with both hands, his movements as quick as lightning.
As he continuously changed his hand seals, powerful Holy Light Breaking Seals were unleashed one after another, their violent energy crashing against the group of Ling Hai Gu like surging waves. If all went well, it wouldn’t be long before John could purify these evil beings completely with the might of his powerful spells.
Roar!
As John cast his spell once more, a terrifying force erupted alongside the sound, awakening every spirit's energy. The Holy Light Breaking Seal struck head-on, sending up clouds of dust.
When the dust settled, spirits emerged from the haze, wielding greatswords that, despite being made of bone, glimmered with a chilling light.
"Kill!" John shouted a single word as he swung his long knife and charged forward with his guards.
The blade sliced through the bones, and under the illumination of the holy light, the spiritual energy was dispelled. No matter how sturdy the bones were, without their protective energy, they could not withstand John's immense strength.
With a horizontal slash, he raised his shield to block, then turned to thrust upward with force, followed by a diagonal slash and a shield bash.
In a smooth series of attacks, three spirits were struck by a cold light that shattered them into pieces as the chill faded away.
Just as he prepared to strike again, his sixth sense went wild with warnings. He quickly retracted his knife and swung it toward his left rear.
Bang! Sizzle!
In that breathtaking moment, the protagonist displayed astonishing reflexes and agility, narrowly blocking a potentially fatal blow. In an instant, two immensely powerful forces collided like thunderous might. Not only was John violently knocked back, but even the dust in the tomb was sent flying in all directions by this tremendous impact.
John flew backward like a kite with its string cut, soaring over ten meters before landing heavily on the ground. Due to the overwhelming inertia, he struggled desperately to stabilize himself against the impending fall. At that moment, he felt an intense burning pain in his palms as if they had been torn apart; the residual force from that last strike was so fierce that it left his hands numb and nearly devoid of feeling.
As the swirling dust gradually cleared away, the attacker finally revealed their true form. The figure appeared with a terrifyingly grotesque skull for a face and a long bony tail trailing behind it that swayed wildly in the air. Coupled with an intensely rich aura of spiritual energy emanating from him, this being was none other than the master of this mysterious tomb and the true owner of the legendary treasure—the Dragonborn.
