When John saw that the door was made of iron, a weight lifted slightly from his heart. After all, finding this door meant they were halfway to the legendary treasure. However, the immediate challenge before him was how to open this tightly shut door.
John carefully examined the iron door, noticing its surface was covered in patches of rust, clearly indicating it hadn't been opened in a long time. He knew well that forcing it open with brute strength would likely be futile. Just as he was deep in thought, Kuiradi suddenly sprang into action.
Without hesitation, Kuiradi grabbed his weapon and swung it fiercely at the door. A loud crash echoed as his powerful strike hit the door, causing it to shake violently. At the same time, the rust clinging to the door fell away like frightened little creatures, scattering to the ground like fine sand.
Seeing Kuiradi prepare to strike again, John felt a surge of alarm and rushed forward without thinking. He put all his strength into a kick aimed at Kuiradi, sending him tumbling backward. Immediately after, a torrent of expletives burst from John's mouth:
"Do you even have a brain? If you keep this up and cause a cave-in, we might not even be able to get inside! Forget about treasure; getting through this place will be a problem!"
Realizing his mistake, Kuiradi's face turned pale with embarrassment as he scratched his head and sheepishly explained, "Hehe, my lord, I just wanted to see if this door could be opened! It looks pretty sturdy!"
However, no one paid much attention to Kuiradi's clumsy defense. Everyone's focus was now on the closed iron door. Clearly, forcing it open would not be easy, and no one could predict what lay beyond it.
After a brief moment of contemplation, John decided to take a different approach to solve this dilemma. He beckoned to one of his soldiers and signaled for him to fetch his alchemy kit.
Before long, the soldier handed John the kit. John carefully accepted it and gently opened the lid. A faint herbal scent wafted up as he revealed a neatly arranged collection of potion vials inside. A quick count revealed there were over a hundred!
John squinted slightly and quickly scanned through the potions. Without hesitation, he reached for one vial. It was about the thickness of a finger and contained a clear liquid that sparkled like crystal.
This mysterious liquid was a byproduct of John's years of dedicated study in alchemy. Due to its powerful corrosive and dissolving properties, it could easily eat away at various minerals; thus, he had named it Aqua Regia.
Typically, John would use Aqua Regia as a solvent for extracting precious substances, but at this moment, facing the stubborn iron door before him, Aqua Regia turned out to be the perfect tool for breaking through.
Carefully wrapping his hands with the Universal Qi Training Method (how convenient it was to skip using corrosive-resistant gloves), he poured the potion along the rusted seams of the door.
At that instant, an explosive chemical reaction erupted! A strong, acrid smell surged forth as thick smoke billowed up from the iron door. Simultaneously, eerie violet flames flickered into existence, casting an ominous glow that illuminated everything around them in a chilling light.
If anyone could penetrate through the swirling smoke at that moment, they would be astonished to see that the seemingly indestructible iron door was being violently corroded by the potion.
