Another busy day had come to an end, the sun gradually sinking in the west as night began to fall. John dragged his weary body back to his study, slowly extending his hand to gently rub his aching lower back. He couldn't help but sigh, thinking, "It seems that even with my Transcendent abilities, I can't compare to those lively children!"
Just as he was contemplating sitting down for a brief rest and reviewing the financial reports of his territory, a sudden flurry of footsteps echoed through the room. A personal guard burst into the study like a gust of wind.
"My lord! It's bad news! Terrible news!" the guard exclaimed, panting heavily.
"Calm down, calm down. Speak slowly. What happened?" John furrowed his brow and asked.
"My lord, Lord Redman has sent you a letter." The guard said as he handed a letter to John.
John took the envelope and quickly tore it open, scanning its contents. As he read further, his expression shifted from calm to excitement and joy.
"Ha ha! This is wonderful! This news is simply fantastic!" John couldn't help but exclaim loudly.
The letter conveyed that Redman had unexpectedly discovered a considerable iron ore deposit on the west side of Binhai Town. Unfortunately, this information had somehow leaked out.
Now, various nobles surrounding the area were eyeing this lucrative opportunity, all wanting a piece of the pie. In desperation, Redman had turned to John for assistance in securing control over the iron mine.
For John, this letter brought two significant benefits. First, if they could successfully help Redman retain the mine, it would solve his future material needs for weapon manufacturing. No longer would he have to travel far to Wutan City to procure ore, saving him a substantial amount of money and greatly reducing transportation costs.
Secondly, it provided him with an excellent excuse to temporarily escape his territory and evade tedious duties. With this thought in mind, John envisioned himself far away from those mischievous children, enjoying moments of freedom without having to spend all day changing diapers or preparing warm milk. This was truly a relief for him.
John rose from his seat, grabbed a weapon from beside him, and quickly made his way to the barracks.
"First and third squads, personal guards with me! Our target is Binhai Town!"
He rallied three soldiers and thirty personal guards, including ten Transcendent Guards. The group set off in an imposing march towards Binhai Town. John was determined not to waste a moment as they pressed forward toward their goal.
At that moment in Binhai Town, Redman's feelings were quite complex regarding the territory he possessed. He found it difficult to assess its merits or flaws. His only wish now was to develop and grow steadily in this place without getting embroiled in any unnecessary disputes.
