"I want ten bags."
John watched as the first transaction went smoothly, his excitement bubbling over. Without a moment's hesitation, he quickly seized the opportunity and continued, "Esteemed Barons, might you be interested in some special fertilizer? It can significantly enhance soil fertility and greatly increase crop yields!"
Upon hearing this, both men almost simultaneously lifted their heads, their gazes locking onto John. As qualified Lords, they understood that any item capable of improving soil fertility was crucial, as it directly affected their descendants' ability to rely on this land for the long-term continuation of their families.
"What exactly is it? Can you really guarantee it enhances fertility?" the Snowman Baron asked first, skepticism etched on his face. Baron Norton nodded in agreement beside him.
Even in the bustling capital, nobles had to go to great lengths to invite legendary Druids to cast spells for enhancing soil fertility. So when they heard that this seemingly ordinary man possessed such a miraculous item, disbelief was natural.
However, facing their doubts, John appeared unfazed. He nodded vigorously and confidently replied, "Rest assured, this fertilizer is absolutely genuine! To be honest, my own family's farmland used to yield only a few hundred pounds of wheat per acre. But ever since we started using this special fertilizer, our yield has skyrocketed to several thousand pounds per acre! Just think about how incredible that is!"
Upon hearing such astonishing figures, not only did the Snowman Baron and Baron Norton widen their eyes in shock, but even the usually silent Redman couldn't contain his curiosity any longer and asked, "So, how can we purchase such an amazing product?"
John never expected that even his usually stoic brother would show such keen interest in this item. He felt a bit nervous but steeled himself and quoted the price: "One bag of this fertilizer can take care of an entire acre of land for a year with just one application. However, it costs five Silver Coins."
As soon as he finished speaking, two gasps echoed simultaneously: "What? Five Silver Coins?!"
Hearing their astonished reactions made John feel a bit guilty. Although he claimed it was a special fertilizer, it was essentially just a mix of bird droppings with some ash and regular soil. It was somewhat unscrupulous to charge so much for it; yet these ingredients were indeed genuine.
Just as John hesitated to explain that the price might be slightly high, the words were barely on his lips when he saw the Snowman Baron and Baron Norton pulling out their coin pouches without a word and exclaiming in unison: "Take all our money for fertilizer! Whatever you have, we want it!"
It turned out they were well aware of the true value of such items. This product could easily be considered an essential tool for farming; its demand far exceeded supply in the market.
If they wanted to hire those legendary Druids in the capital to personally concoct similar fertilizers with such effects, money alone wouldn't suffice; deep personal connections would be necessary. Even hiring an Epic-level Druid would cost significantly more than what John was asking now. So at that moment, they couldn't care less about the small sum; they feared that if they hesitated, they might miss out on acquiring more.
