The once bustling Allied Camp now lay in ruins, a scene of utter devastation. The ground was scarred with countless deep and shallow sword marks, as if narrating the brutality and bloodshed of the fierce battle that had just taken place. The deep pits formed by the slicing sword energy and the massive craters left by falling meteors were like gaping wounds on the earth, shocking to behold.
Not long ago, a breathtaking battle had erupted here, where two powerful masters from Sanctuary engaged in a life-and-death struggle. Yet now, these two formidable figures had vanished without a trace, leaving behind only a landscape of destruction and the lingering echoes of combat.
John cautiously led his companions into the desolate camp, moving like ghosts through the ruins. They scanned their surroundings warily, ensuring there was no danger before they began to boldly search for any valuables left behind.
At the same time, John and his group made sure to round up some of the horses that were trapped against the pillars and unable to escape. After all, despite their considerable strength, transporting such a large amount of supplies would be nearly impossible without these horses' assistance.
However, John was not alone in this camp. In various corners of the area were groups of Serf Soldiers and soldiers who had previously fled but returned. Surprisingly, several nobles of high status were also mixed among them.
Nevertheless, John had no intention of engaging too much with other nobles. He understood that the most important task at hand was to quickly gather supplies and safely retreat from this place. Thus, each group worked in harmony, diligently collecting items within their designated areas. The entire process was orderly, devoid of any arguments or noise.
Every Serf Soldier and soldier encountered by John and his companions was seamlessly integrated into their ranks. Additionally, numerous Wu Lan were meticulously gathered; those scattered pieces of armor were carefully loaded into vehicles for future reforging.
It was regrettable that all the food had been completely destroyed during the battle. It seemed that in the days to come, they would have to spend heavily to acquire new food supplies.
"Everything is packed; this will be our capital for the future," John remarked as he surveyed the area one last time. Confirming that they had thoroughly searched this section, he waved his hand and led his team back on their journey. This camp had once been quite large, but after enduring such an intense battle, it was now a mere shadow of its former self, with scarce resources remaining.
As they approached the village near the camp, John spotted Redman limping towards them. One could not help but marvel at the Transcendent Knight's remarkable physical condition and astonishing recovery ability.
Just yesterday, Redman had appeared utterly exhausted and lifeless; yet now he managed to walk with only a simple wooden board strapped to his foot! John couldn't help but feel amazed—who would believe such miraculous recovery if they hadn't witnessed it firsthand?
At that moment, Redman noticed John's return as well. His gaze was immediately drawn to the long line of carts behind John. To his astonishment, there were as many as fourteen carts lined up neatly!
Each cart was piled high with various spoils of war, and there were numerous horses pulling them—sixty draft horses alone, along with three imposing warhorses. In addition to these, a substantial number of soldiers accompanied the returning convoy—four or five at least.
Faced with such a spectacular sight, Redman could hardly close his mouth in astonishment; he could hardly fathom how such bountiful rewards could have been gathered during this outing.
