The power of a wizard lies not only in their fearsome offensive capabilities but also in the myriad of techniques they employ. Whether it be elemental forces or unpredictable curses, they wield these skills with remarkable finesse and ease.
Before reaching the Transcendent realm, these wizards might still harbor some caution towards us, reluctant to provoke us lightly. However, once they successfully step into the Transcendent domain, the gap between us becomes as vast as the heavens and the earth.
Hearing this, John looked at Redman in disbelief, his eyes wide as he spoke. "Are we really that inadequate? It can't be that bad! We are all Transcendent too!"
In response to John's skepticism, a hint of despondency crossed Redman's face. He slowly shook his head and replied with a bitter smile, "Brother, I assure you I am not deceiving you. When I first learned this truth, my reaction was just like yours. But the reality is cruel; the attack power of those wizards is simply terrifying. We cannot withstand even a few strikes."
John remained unconvinced and pressed on, "What if we rely on our agility to dodge their attacks and wear them out? We can't just sit here and wait for our doom!"
Feeling as though he might be treading a path destined for obsolescence, John was filled with reluctance and despair.
"Hahaha, I thought of that too! I asked my mentor about it, and he told me that those wizards have something called the Magic Recovery Potion. Ever since then, knights have been at a disadvantage."
Redman grabbed a nearby flask and took a swig. He felt helpless; after dedicating his life to the path of a knight, in the eyes of wizards, he was merely a profession suited for the sewers.
"Is there really no way out?" John's gaze dimmed. It seemed he was aware there might still be options. He wanted to continue on the knight's path; after all, heaven lay to the left and warriors to the right—who wouldn't want to become a towering warrior?
"Maybe there is," Redman's response left John confused. "What do you mean 'maybe'? Either there is or there isn't. Isn't it awkward to say 'maybe'?"
Redman looked up at the night sky and spoke of a method: becoming a Sanctuary.
"Oh, becoming a Sanctuary." John nodded as if he understood and turned to ask, "What is Sanctuary?"
Redman’s previously melancholic demeanor was shattered by John's question. Clearing his throat, he said, "You don’t know what Sanctuary is? It’s the realm beyond Transcendent."
"Brother, you know me; I'm just a Half-Step Transcendent. I haven't even reached Transcendent yet," John admitted, feeling guilty towards his friends who had already advanced while he lagged behind. His profession template wasn’t one that could easily dominate everything.
"Don’t mention Sanctuary; I don’t even know what comes after Transcendent."
Redman cleared his throat again and began to explain patiently to John. "Listen carefully, John. The first step on the Transcendent path is achieving Transcendent status itself. The key lies in condensing your Knight Class. This Knight Class has different names depending on where you are—some call it Fighting Spirit or other interesting titles."
Once you carefully nurture this Knight Class to a certain degree, it will bloom like a flower. This stage signifies that you have stepped into the second phase of the Transcendent path: Epic.
As long as you persistently cultivate yourself and continuously grow stronger, that blossoming flower will keep thriving. At a certain moment, when the flower successfully bears abundant fruit, congratulations! You will have successfully broken through the Epic realm and ascended to become a legendary figure worthy of admiration!
