Originally, John believed that the days would quietly pass by in a routine of alchemy, diligent training in cultivation techniques, and nurturing life alongside his wife, Annie. However, after his militia completed their training, he planned to lead them to the bandit camp, allowing these fledgling warriors to experience the baptism of bloody combat firsthand.
Then, an unexpected invitation arrived like a stone thrown into a still lake, instantly shattering the seemingly mundane yet enjoyable rhythm of John's life.
Outside Binhai Town, a beautifully adorned carriage moved slowly along the road. Inside, John gently accompanied Annie as they admired the enchanting scenery along the way. Annie lay quietly in John's broad embrace like a well-behaved kitten, secretly pondering what her husband might need during their visit to her brother, Redman.
Annie lifted her head and asked sweetly, "Dear, is there anything you would like me to say to my brother when we see him?"
Hearing this, John smiled slightly and reached out his right hand to tenderly stroke Annie's smooth and shiny hair. Meanwhile, his mischievous left hand seemed to have a mind of its own as it subtly wandered around Annie's slender waist.
After a moment of thought in response to Annie's inquiry, John replied, "My dear, you only need to get along well with your brother's wives. After all, Redman has already been quite helpful regarding matters in the territory; I should be grateful and content with that."
He believed that personal favors should not be wasted on trivial matters; he needed to reserve them for significant issues. If it weren't for the fact that the Werewolf Bloodline Knight Potion was too precious and difficult to manage—fearing it might provoke any ill thoughts from Redman—John had even considered gifting him one as a token of appreciation.
However, he decided against the Werewolf Bloodline Knight Potion since healing potions were hard currency; having one on the battlefield could be extremely valuable. "But if you need anything at all, just let me know. After all, my brother watched me grow up; he still supports me."
Annie expressed her stance as well. "Don't worry about me; if there's anything I need to tell you, I will. For now, just focus on being your knight's lady."
As John comforted Annie, his hands moved restlessly. The coachman wisely steered the carriage into a nearby grove while soldiers stood guard several dozen meters away, waiting for the tumult inside the carriage to conclude before continuing their journey.
Three hours passed as the carriage continued its journey. For some reason, a salty seafood smell wafted from within the vehicle, reminiscent of abalone sauce.
The carriage smoothly entered the castle next to Binhai Town; as for the town itself, John had no intention of visiting.
The last time John visited that chaotic place, the litter scattered everywhere left him with no interest in this small town. It was not at all like the large cities he had been to.
It was evident that the former noble rulers of Binhai Town had neglected sanitation, and Redman had done even less to address it. In his older brother's eyes, as long as taxes were paid honestly, the conditions in the town could be whatever they wanted.
This time, Redman did not come to greet him, but John didn’t mind; after all, the carriages parked in front of the castle indicated that Redman had many guests inside.
"Welcome, Knight John." The waiting Tustin Butler hurriedly knelt beside John's carriage.
Stepping on the servant's back, John and Annie dismounted from the carriage.
