In the second-floor lounge of the Yodel Trading Company, a plump merchant named Luni presented a price list to Knight John. 0

"Dear Knight John, here is our price list for you to review. Please let me know what you need. The items are arranged by category for your convenience." 0

John paid little attention to Luni's chatter, instead focusing on the list in front of him, his expression neutral. 0

This is bad; I can't read. What does all this say? 0

He regretted not bringing Master along; he was the only one in their circle who could read. 0

Clearing his throat, Luni noticed that the nobleman before him was illiterate. This wasn't unusual for knights, who often rose through the ranks based on military prowess rather than education. 0

"Sir Knight, we have something that might meet your needs," Luni said. 0

"What needs? I haven't said anything," John replied, confused. 0

Without further explanation, Luni turned and rummaged through the counter. After a few minutes, he emerged with a box from a pile of goods. 0

He blew off the dust and opened the lid, revealing a scroll inside. 0

After confirming that the scroll was intact, Luni approached John with it in hand. 0

"Sir Knight, this is our Chamber of Commerce's prized possession—the Language Learning Scroll from the Imperial City Magic Tower. It is a bit pricey, though." 0

Hearing the name, John had an inkling of what it was. "Language Learning Scroll? What are its effects?" 0

Luni could see John's interest and quickly seized the opportunity to persuade him further. 0

"Rest assured, once you use it, you will be able to read and write in our Hecha Kingdom's language without any issues." 0

"And how much does it cost?" John asked, having had enough of living in ignorance. 0

With a smile, Luni replied, "It’s gold coins." 0

"How much?!" John exclaimed in disbelief at the price. It was exorbitant—was he joking? 0

Luni chuckled and continued, "Sir Knight, you must understand that this is a masterpiece from the Magic Tower; how could it be cheap? Wizards are always held in high regard." 0

John pondered for a moment; after all, wizards were indeed rare talents. "Fine, just give it to me." 0

"Sir, payment first," Luni said cheerfully. "Simply hold it to your forehead to use it." 0

After paying, John took the scroll and examined it closely but couldn't discern much from it. He only sensed a hint of magic through the Universal Qi Training Method and prepared to follow Luni's instructions. 0

At the moment the scroll was pressed against his forehead, a torrent surged into John's mind. After keeping his eyes closed for a while, he slowly lowered his head and opened his eyes, eagerly pulling out the list he had just received. 0

"Ha ha, not bad, everyone is familiar with the goods," he chuckled. The merchant Luni laughed along, reassured that the Yodel Trading Company dealt in legitimate merchandise. 0

Luni felt an immense joy inside; when he initially purchased this scroll, he had been blind to its true value. He thought it would be easy to sell after a while, but little did he know that no one could afford it. 0

Among the nobles, there was no one who couldn't read. Parents of young children primarily wanted them to learn from their teachers; learning to read was secondary, as the main goal was to cultivate their thinking skills. As for others, they might have the need but lacked the funds. 0

Just looking at the dust on it indicated how long it had been sitting unsold. Finally, it was sold! Tonight, he thought, he would treat himself to a drink and perhaps invite a few more maids to keep him company. He chuckled to himself, feeling quite proud of his cleverness. 0
