"Everyone, grip your spears tightly and maintain formation! First team, thrust forward; second team, prepare to take over!" John shouted loudly, directing the soldiers to move. At this moment, he knew that effective tactics were essential to face the crisis ahead. As his orders were given, the soldiers firmly grasped their spears, ready for battle.
Meanwhile, John turned to his companions, Kuiradi and Musk, and said with determination, "Let's go intercept those Big Goblins! We cannot let them break through our defenses!" Without hesitation, the three charged toward the dozen or so remaining Big Goblins. John understood clearly that if they did not intercept these brutes, once they charged, the soldiers' formation would be shattered, leading to unimaginable consequences.
With a powerful thrust, John drove his spear downwards, its cold gleam flashing as he dodged a massive club swinging in front of him. He twisted his body, the spear's edge slicing through the air and striking the knee of a towering goblin. The creature lost its balance and fell to the ground.
Quickly releasing his spear, John drew a short sword from his side and plunged it deep into the fallen goblin's skull. He twisted his arm, stirring the blade inside its eye socket before pulling it out, bringing with it a gruesome splash of brain matter.
Ignoring the fate of the goblin beneath him, he swiftly withdrew his short sword and raised it defensively to block attacks from other approaching goblins. In that moment of stability, he rolled beneath one of their legs, slashing upward to sever its tendons before driving the blade into its vital spot.
In battle, there was no mercy; inflicting effective damage was the ultimate skill. The agonizing pain in its lower body caused the second goblin to release Wu Lan and sit on the ground in agony. The surrounding goblins hesitated to attack John out of fear.
He picked up a spear from the ground and wiped his short sword clean on the belly of the fool who dared abandon Wu Lan on the battlefield. He then plunged it into his leg and continued attacking the nearby goblins.
After slaying two more big goblins, John realized that his strength surpassed these creatures significantly. It made sense considering all his various class templates and the advantages of being a Lord; even if he couldn't match a Half-Step Transcendent, he was close enough.
As he fought relentlessly, John kept an eye on his soldiers. Their training over these past days had instilled discipline in them; they continuously thrust their spears forward, trying to take down the goblins attacking their formation. The bodies of fallen goblins had begun to form a wall around them.
However, their formation was not invincible. As fatigue set in, more soldiers were being knocked down by relentless goblins, and casualties began to rise.
"Master! Quick defense! Hold this line with Kuiradi!" John shouted urgently. He knew that if anyone could handle it, it had to be Master. They understood each other's capabilities well; Kuiradi was suited for charging into battle but not for holding the line.
"Understood! I'm on it!" Master replied as he swiftly dispatched nearby goblins and big ones with his knight's sword before rushing toward John.
