"Cough, are you kidding me, boss?"
Redman placed his hand on John's shoulder and said earnestly, "Do I look like someone who jokes around?"
"Not really, but I haven't seen what our sister looks like," John replied, a hint of worry creeping into his voice. He was concerned that she might not be attractive. Even if she wasn't unattractive, he thought that having crossed over and becoming a noble, he should at least find someone beautiful.
Redman sensed John's unease and brushed his hair back. "Look at me, brother. Just take a good look at my face. Are you really sure my sister isn't beautiful?"
"Enough said, boss, I get it," John conceded.
He couldn't help but agree; Redman's face was as handsome as the lead in the Twilight Saga. How could Redman's sister be anything less? After all, the head of the White Family's guards—Redman's brother—was nearly forty yet still looked so good. If John didn't agree, wouldn't that be too ungrateful?
"Brother-in-law, are you still calling me boss?" Redman feigned dissatisfaction.
John quickly caught on. "Big brother! Oh man, big brother!"
Now it was official; he had a real big brother who had granted him a title, land, and even followers and a wife.
After sending off his big brother Redman, John entered the tent alone to check out his skills and card draw.
Drawing cards.
Three cards flew out from beneath the fourth template's mark, swirling in his mind before finally settling in mid-air.
This wasn't John's first time, so he promptly clicked on one of the cards.
【Treasure: Roman's Twilight】
Each month, you will gain a Half-Step Transcendent Roman profession with exceptional combat skills and loyalty.
(The opponent's strength will not increase but will not decline until death.)
This was on a completely different level from the previous Treasure; indeed, higher-tier profession templates were better.
It was time to try out the skills. Wandering Warrior—he wondered if it could summon a Transcendent warrior. He began to daydream about the possibilities as he activated both skills.
Ding! Wandering Warrior skill activating, please wait.
Ding! Treasure: Roman's Twilight activating, please wait.
Was there a delay? He had expected an instant summon, but after waiting for what felt like an eternity, there was still no response.
After an unknown amount of time, Johnny rushed into the tent.
"Boss, boss! Someone's looking for you; they say they're your friends."
"How many?" John asked, a hint of concern creeping into his voice. "Is it the summoned warriors and that so-called Twilight?"
"Four people, but it's strange. Their outfits clearly belong to two different groups, yet they all claim to be your friends."
Thinking it over, Johnny felt uneasy. For the sake of his boss's safety, he suggested, "Boss, should I bring some people to tie them up?"
Looking at his subordinate, John couldn't help but feel a bit helpless. They were all clever in their own right, but this was unnecessary. "No need for that. I'll just go see these people myself."
"But boss, you're a noble now!" Johnny exclaimed. He felt that as a noble, it might be inappropriate for John to meet them directly. After all, he knew Lord Redman always let visitors come on their own.
"Hey, I'm a Knight Lord, but I'm still just John," he replied dismissively.
Ignoring Johnny's stunned expression, John stood up and walked out of the tent.
Realizing what was happening, Johnny hurried to catch up. "Boss, you don't know the way! Let me lead you!"
