At the edge of the Burial Ground, Ye Tian, the Son of Destiny from the Ye Family, was out training under the guidance of his master, Su Yanran, who resided within a necklace. A month passed swiftly, and with his extraordinary talent, Ye Tian overcame numerous obstacles to reach the First Level of Marquis. Such rapid progress would surely astonish even Ye Xingchen, who had struggled greatly to barely attain the level of King. It was remarkable that Ye Tian achieved such impressive accomplishments after just one month away.
Naturally, Su Yanran was immensely pleased with Ye Tian's rapid growth. Although they faced many challenges along the way, they managed to navigate through them without serious incident. With Su Yanran's careful support, Ye Tian escaped the perilous Zhao Kingdom and continued their journey of training.
The Zhao Kingdom was currently hosting its annual Martial Arts Tournament for the younger generation. This grand event attracted all young talents under fifty from within the kingdom, and Ye Tian, full of youthful vigor, resolutely signed up to participate in the competition.
Initially, the tournament proceeded smoothly for Ye Tian. With his outstanding skills and techniques, he advanced through the rounds and successfully reached the finals. However, just before the final match, he encountered Zheng San, the son of Wu Hou, a prominent figure among Zhao's youth. Although his name might sound trivial, his strength was formidable. At just thirty years old, he had already reached the Celestial Five Layers realm and was considered one of Zhao's most gifted individuals.
Yet, facing Ye Tian, the Son of Destiny, Zheng San ultimately fell short. Under the fierce assault of Ye Tian's Shadowless Sword Technique, he was left defenseless. However, after his defeat, Zheng San did not relent; he attempted a sneak attack from behind while Ye Tian was momentarily careless. Fortunately, Su Yanran quickly saw through his scheme, allowing Ye Tian to deliver a swift strike that ended the battle.
This action infuriated Wu Hou. After all, his son Zheng San had died at Ye Tian's hands. In that moment, Ye Tian found himself in serious trouble. Just as Wu Hou was about to unleash his wrath and kill Ye Tian on the spot, a graceful figure suddenly appeared in the arena like a gentle breeze, leaving everyone in astonishment. It was none other than Zhao Yue'er, the grand princess of Zhao Kingdom. She moved elegantly, her bright eyes shining with authority as she spoke in a cold yet firm voice: "Wu Hou, you have crossed a line. The Martial Arts Tournament is governed by rules set by my father and the ministers; do you intend to openly defy them?" Her tone carried an undeniable authority that momentarily stunned Wu Hou.
Though Wu Hou seethed with anger inside, he knew he was in the wrong when faced with Zhao Yue'er's inquiry. He glared at Ye Tian with malice in his eyes but had to admit that in front of everyone, it was indeed Zheng San who had acted recklessly and attempted a sneak attack first. While Wu Hou's anger simmered within him, he realized that it was impossible to kill Ye Tian at that moment and could only plot for another time.
Thus, suppressing his fury, Wu Hou allowed the tournament to continue. From the beginning of Ye Tian's preliminary matches, Zhao Yue'er had been watching him closely. His extraordinary appearance and outstanding demeanor captivated her; coupled with his exceptional talent and strength made her develop feelings for him. With her heart fluttering at this unexpected turn of events and seeing it wasn't truly Ye Tian's fault, she felt compelled to stand up for him.
Ye Tian looked at Zhao Yue'er with gratitude in his eyes. He understood how rare it was for someone to step forward on his behalf in this world where strength reigned supreme. He nodded slightly to her as a gesture of thanks. In return, Zhao Yue'er smiled gently at him—a smile as warm as spring sunshine that warmed Ye Tian's heart.
"Ha ha! You lad have quite the luck with romance! You’ve only just arrived in Zhao Kingdom and already caught the princess’s attention!" Su Yanran teased from within the necklace with a hint of playful mockery. Hearing this made Ye Tian’s face flush red as he hurriedly defended himself: "Master, please don’t say such things! Zhao Yue'er simply saw injustice and stepped in to help; it’s not as exaggerated as you make it sound." His voice grew softer until it became almost inaudible.
Su Yanran laughed even more: "What? You still won’t admit it? I see you have quite an affection for Zhao Yue'er too." Caught off guard by her words, Ye Tian felt embarrassed but found himself unable to refute her claim further.
