Xie Ren walked slowly through the parking lot, each step echoing dully in the quiet space, striking at the heart of Madwoman, who was bouncing wildly.
The parking lot was eerily silent. A breeze occasionally blew in from the shattered glass, stirring up the litter on the ground.
"There's no need to hide, Lu Sha. My not choking you to death just now is my last act of mercy. Killing you is just a matter of time," Xie Ren said.
Suddenly, he heard a metallic sound clanging against the wall from behind a pillar to his right.
Confident that this was the spot, Xie Ren smiled knowingly and punched through the pillar!
However, when he reached out to grab Madwoman, he found nothing but air.
Just as he was puzzled, he heard the sound of chains clashing above him. Looking up, he saw Madwoman hooking herself onto a ceiling cover with a hook!
Before Xie Ren could react, a hook-shaped Chain spear shot towards him, directly snagging the back of his neck!
Unfortunately for her, it missed its mark; the skin on his neck was just as dense as any other part of his body. Realizing she had hooked a vital spot, Xie Ren quickly grabbed the hook on his neck and shook violently, while Madwoman held on tightly with one hand to avoid falling, trying to rip Xie Ren's head off.
"Ugh!" Seeing that Madwoman wouldn't let go, Xie Ren decided to turn the tables and spun around in place!
If he didn't move, it felt like his hand would be ripped off. With no other choice, Madwoman was flung into the air. She had no chance to retaliate and crashed hard against another pillar!
"Hiss... ah." In excruciating pain, Madwoman fell to the ground beside the pillar, desperately trying to stand up. But Xie Ren had already approached her without hesitation and aimed a bone spike at her neck before thrusting down!
Madwoman quickly extended her hands and clawed at his arm with all her might to prevent the bone spike from descending. Watching her struggle so helplessly made Xie Ren smirk with pride.
"Think of something, think of something!" Madwoman felt like she was on the verge of a mental breakdown—one part of her fighting for survival while another part cheered her on from the sidelines.
Glancing at how close the bone spike was to her neck and then locking eyes with Xie Ren, she suddenly had an idea.
It was time to take a gamble!
Resolutely, Madwoman released her right hand while forcefully pushing with her left! The bone spike descended due to only one side bearing weight but was deflected by her left hand, grazing her cheek before embedding itself into the concrete floor!
This was just step one; seizing the moment, she aimed her right arm's Chain spear at Xie Ren's face and shot it straight—
Right into his right eye!
"Ugh—" Xie Ren let out a tremendous scream, covering his eyes with both hands as he staggered backward against a pillar, writhing in pain and curling up!
What an opportunity! Madwoman immediately pursued him, glancing at a nearby car before shooting out her Chain spear, embedding it in the car door. With a strong pull, she yanked the door off its hinges. Just as Xie Ren regained his senses, Madwoman leaped high into the air and shouted as she swung her arm, letting the Chain spear pull the car door in an elegant arc before smashing it down onto Xie Ren's head like a hammer striking steel!
With a loud crash, the car door shattered into pieces. Dazed and seeing stars, Xie Ren stumbled and fell to the ground as if he had been hit by a bottle of strong liquor.
Seeing that victory was increasingly within reach, Madwoman seized the chance to attack further; this time she even closed one eye to aim carefully before shooting out another hook-shaped Chain spear, ensnaring Xie Ren's neck!
As soon as he came back to his senses and tried to get up, he found himself choked by Xiao Kuang. The blade of the kinetic cutting knife, powered by Lu Sha, tore into his flesh and dug deep into his neck!
"Is this how you want to settle things once and for all, Lu Sha!?"
That furious roar startled even Madwoman, making her freeze for a moment—this voice was not human; it sounded like that of a bloodthirsty beast!
In an extreme rage, Xie Ren finally revealed his trump card—Third Stage feralization!
The Madwoman, stunned to the point of forgetting to exert her strength, slowly let her hands drop, her mouth agape as she watched the crimson figure before her grow larger, completely blocking out the light that had streamed in from the window when she had fallen!
This time, Xie Ren fully revealed his true beastly form—his size increased once more, countless sharp spikes protruding from his back, standing tall against his scarlet skin. His arms and hands were terrifyingly thick; Madwoman glanced at the nearby wheel and felt that his fists looked about the same size!
The third stage of feralization had transformed Xie Ren into a massive gorilla. As she watched him become a three-meter-tall monster, Madwoman finally realized the severity of the situation and hurriedly tried to retract her Chain spear.
However, Xie Ren had already turned his face toward her, his fangs like sharp knives at the edge of his mouth. In an instant, he grabbed Xiao Kuang's chain behind him and threw her to the ground as if performing a shoulder throw!
Before Madwoman could react, Xie Ren swiped down with a claw, leaving deep gashes across her face!
"I want to rip out your eyeballs too!" Xie Ren roared, spitting sticky saliva onto Madwoman's face, making her feel nauseous.
As Xie Ren's hand descended, Madwoman had no time to think; she quickly rolled away and shot her Chain spear, embedding it in a pillar behind her to propel herself forward. But there was a wall behind her—she had nowhere left to retreat!
Clenching her fists tightly, at the moment Xie Ren charged at her, she smashed through the nearby glass and jumped down.
This was not a reckless leap! Once calm, Madwoman quickly hooked onto the glass with a grappling hook and slid down. Seeing this, Xie Ren jumped down directly and landed on the ground, looking up at Madwoman, who was dragging the glass down like a predator watching its prey!
Pedestrians on the street screamed and scattered at the sight of the final form of Xie Ren.
"This..."
"That's at least several dozen meters; jumping down should be fine?" Madwoman thought as she shot another Chain spear to latch onto an air conditioning unit on a higher floor to pull herself up—she dared not confront Xie Ren head-on; he clearly was not on the same level.
Seeing her attempt to escape, Xie Ren leaped up the office building towards her without hesitation! In just a few moments, he caught up with her and jumped forcefully—
Having just seen Xie Ren on the ground, Madwoman, hearing the commotion, looked back only to find a massive claw coming straight for her!
"Ugh!"
Xie Ren caught Madwoman in his grasp and slammed her down onto the ground!
"Aren't you brave? Huh? Come on!" Looking at Madwoman, who was struggling desperately in his grip, Xie Ren wasted no time and thrust one of his bone spikes directly toward Xiao Kuang's neck...
"Boom!"
Flames suddenly erupted from Xie Ren's back; he staggered as his attack was interrupted!
With the first grenade exploding, more grenades rained down like raindrops, detonating against the enraged Xie Ren.
"Fire at will!"
At Nightmare's command, fully armed Armed Police immediately opened fire; bullets and grenades rained down on Xie Ren, unleashing a barrage that lasted eight seconds! The grenades in Nightmare's gun were already depleted.
However, through the thick smoke, a three-meter-tall monster slowly emerged, staring directly at Nightmare.
The barely conscious Madwoman, having regained a second chance at life, noticed that Xie Ren had his back turned to her!
"Oh no, Sister Jiao An!"

Glancing back to confirm that Xie Ren had also entered, Nightmare urged, "No matter what method you use, please hurry!"

"Ah—" The Madwoman stood atop the wall, pulling hard on Xie Ren, who was nearly going insane trying to shake off the chain hooks.
But this time, it wasn't so easy for her to come down—both of her feet had solid leverage points, keeping her center of gravity firmly controlled.

The Fate Conqueror's angled chamber was loaded with twenty biochemistry corrosive rounds sent overnight by Dr. Chen's special team.
Once he locked onto his target area, Nightmare immediately aimed for Xie Ren's neck and fired off more than ten shots without missing a single one!
Being hit by just one biochemistry corrosive round could visibly erode even an Asian elephant's skin; imagine being hit multiple times in one spot. The Armed Police noticed that Xie Ren's skin around his neck was slowly melting away like paint!
"Die already—"
With one last furious shout, the Madwoman ignored the excruciating pain in her arms and gritted her teeth as she lifted both arms forcefully!
"Sizzle!"
As the plasma shot out in an arc, a wave of relief washed over her, leaving her hands feeling empty. Xie Ren's head fell to the ground, blood splattering across the entire wall and splashing onto Madwoman's weary face, which was on the verge of fainting. The dismembered body of Xie Ren swayed slightly before finally crashing down with a thud.
"Damn, I'm so tired..." Madwoman felt darkness closing in, pulled her foot back, and fell off the wall, landing right beside Xie Ren's severed head.
"You won."
To her surprise, Xie Ren was still alive; the head was still looking at Xiao Kuang with its eyes.
"I told you, evil cannot prevail over righteousness. No matter how strong it is, darkness will eventually be swallowed by light," Madwoman said calmly, as if sharing thoughts with an old friend.
Xie Ren sighed and slowly replied, "But we were both born in darkness..."
With that, lacking any blood circulation, Xie Ren finally closed his eyes.
Seeing that her task was complete, a wave of drowsiness hit Jiao An. She wanted to help Lu Sha up, but the utterly exhausted Lu Sha slowly released the chain she held, tilting her head to the right and collapsing into Jiao An's arms.
Looking at the blood-soaked girl in her embrace, Jiao An felt a sharp pain in her heart. With a heavy sigh, she turned to the Armed Police and said, "Remember this hero's name: Lu Sha. I, Jiao An, will never let her go back to prison, and neither will you."
The voice-controlled light dimmed again as Jiao An gently brushed the dust off Lu Sha's face. In the darkness, she announced to the Armed Police:
"I need to take care of her; it's my promise to this girl. Once the mission is complete, she will be free. If the court insists on convicting her, please come forward as witnesses and tell them to place Lu Sha's sins along with my own upon me."
The next day,
Xie Ren was dealt with by the Armed Police!
Upon hearing this news, Xie Ren's story became a joke used by parents to scare their children. Whenever kids truly got frightened, adults would quickly change their tone: "Don't worry too much, kids; our righteous warriors have taken care of him!"
Jiao An's whereabouts that night were ultimately exposed. She offered no resistance as she accompanied the police to court for trial. She was about to be convicted for unlawfully releasing a death row inmate.

The Military Base in City S directly retrieved footage from that day's cameras and presented evidence of Jiao An subduing Lin Weixing to the higher court. They explained Jiao An's motives that night and issued a statement to society declaring that Jiao An's actions were entirely justified and that all responsibility lay with the Military Base in City S.
In the end, Jiao An was acquitted.
Ironically enough, both An Xiaotian and Liu Xuan were completely unaware of everything happening. They thought Sister Jiao An had simply gone on vacation after resolving the invasion incident.

"Jiawen, I have to wander now. I can't drag you down; the police are still looking for me. I can't stay in this city anymore, so... I have to go."
Zhang Jiawen thought he would be heartbroken but only smiled slightly.
It wasn't that he didn't love Lu Sha; it was just that his heart hurt too much, too much for even a cry to escape.
"It’s okay; actually, from the day you were caught, I knew our love would no longer be perfect."
Following Zhang Jiawen's vacant gaze, Lu Sha saw a shooting star streak across the sky, fleeting and gone in an instant.

Lu Sha's parting was devoid of peach blossom ponds or ancient paths; it was merely under the same sunset glow that the person she loved remained forever in yesterday.
An unsorrowful hero, an ordinary girl born in darkness yet yearning for light. But her fearlessness, her justice, and all her efforts could not bring about a complete love or even a warm harbor.
What she gained was only herself continuing an endless life of wandering and fleeing.
