The Bai Family estate was vast, occupying an entire mountain. The venue for the Birthday Banquet was located at the reception area halfway up the slope, which was also the largest part of the entire Yu Bai Mountain residence.
Stepping out of the guest hall, a lively atmosphere enveloped them. There were performances of opera, water sleeve dances, and shadow puppetry. However, few people were actually watching; most attendees had come for business opportunities, chatting as they walked by, their eyes barely glancing at the performances.
"Brother, don't you find this feeling strange?" Yan Kongyue said, crossing her arms and scanning the surroundings with caution.
"Yes, it feels like we're being observed!"
"Exactly! No matter what happens later, you mustn't wander off. Stay with Grandpa. If you get separated, I’ll have to split my attention to find you."
"I remember! You've already said that many times today!"
Just as Yan Kongyue was about to say something else, she suddenly stopped in her tracks.
"Damn it, does that old man really not want us to eat?"

"Should we sneak up and check it out?" Feng Xing had been silent until now, not even sending a message.
"Don't worry about him; no one here can harm him. When the time is right, he will reveal himself. And don’t go running around; we don’t want to alert anyone."
"Got it!"
"Have you memorized the way down?"
"Yes."
"When it's time for you Ghost Guardians to evacuate the crowd down the mountain, the Bai Family and Lao Gui won't harm us. Besides, if something goes wrong with so many people here, it would be a huge problem for them."
"Hmph, that old fox really thinks he’s invincible!" Lin Qian remarked as they took their positions. Earlier that morning, Yan Kongyue had devised a formation with them positioned on the outskirts to protect the old man in the center.
By the time guests reached the banquet hall, half of the dishes were already served. The Lin Family had been assigned seats at the innermost part of the hall, closest to the stage, with a door beside them. Upon seeing that door, Yan Kongyue smiled.
"Lin Qian, did you see that door?" she pointed with her chin.
Lin Qian nodded nonchalantly.
"That’s reserved for us!"
"So should we go in or not?"
"Come on in! How can we have fun if we don't?"
"Where could Feng Xing be hiding now? He should be in the back mountain. It's getting late; soon it will be time to eat and drink!"
"They wouldn't poison us, would they?"
"Not likely. Their methods are already low enough. If they resort to poisoning, I would truly look down on that Bai Family Elder."
"That's true!"
"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome!"
On the stage of the banquet hall, a man and a woman stepped forward; they were likely the hosts of the Birthday Banquet. However, none of this was what Yan Kongyue was focused on, as Feng Xing's voice had already begun to echo in his ears.
