Under the office building, police cars and ambulances flashed their lights as the paramedics carried a stretcher out. Despite it being late at night, the street-facing office building was bustling with onlookers due to the numerous police vehicles parked outside, and officers had set up a cordon. 0

"There are ghosts! There are ghosts inside the Police Journal!" whispered the crowd in hushed tones. 0

"What’s going on?" a police officer approached the paramedics and asked. 0

"Severe compound fracture of the tibia, extensive soft tissue contusions on the chest and back," one of the paramedics replied. 0

"Any injuries here?" The officer pointed to his own head. 0

"Does losing a chunk of hair count?" 0

"Oh, got it. Thanks!" The officer helped lift the stretcher before turning to leave. 0

As he was about to exit, he glanced back toward where Yan Kongyue and the others were standing. 0

"What’s happening?" 0

"We called the police!" Huo Jingyu had been contemplating what kind of gesture would look more impressive when presenting their identification. 0

"Come this way!" The officer led them to a spot next to the entrance of the building. 0

"This is my ID!" Huo Jingyu mimicked a scene from a Hong Kong movie, waving his ID in front of the officer. Before the officer could take it back, Huo Jingyu had already placed it in his hands. 0

Lin Qian rubbed her nose, feeling a bit embarrassed; it was too cringeworthy. 0

Just as the officer prepared to open the ID holder, Yan Kongyue’s fingers twitched. When the ID unfolded, a flash of gold glimmered. 0

The officer was caught off guard and jumped slightly, losing his grip on the ID. But in an instant, Yan Kongyue caught it deftly. 0

Lin Qian raised an eyebrow: she did that on purpose. 0

"Be careful!" Yan Kongyue handed the ID back to the officer. 0

The officer looked at Yan Kongyue in surprise, then glanced at the ID in his hand with disbelief. He was known for his quick reflexes throughout the precinct, yet this girl had moved even faster than him. 0

"Thank you!" The officer took back the ID and, upon seeing "Seventh Bureau," raised his eyes to look at the three of them again. 0

The ID was undoubtedly real, but what on earth was "Seventh Bureau"? 0

"Seventh Bureau," the officer said, "I think you should call someone above your director to confirm." 0

He paused for a moment, then turned and walked a few steps aside to make a phone call to his team leader. After a brief conversation, he hung up but remained in place, intently examining Huo Jingyu's credentials. 0

A few minutes later, his phone rang again. 0

"Hello, Team Leader!" 0

"Yes, there is indeed a Seventh Bureau. Tell them to wait there; Zhang Ju will be there shortly." 0

"Understood!" The officer quickly returned to the three of them. 0

"Are you all from the Seventh Bureau?" 0

"Yes." Lin Qian produced her identification and handed it to the officer. 0

"And you?" The officer looked at Yan Kongyue, thinking to himself that it was unusual for someone so young to be associated with the National Security Bureau. Was she perhaps just a child of some leader? However, as he met her serious gaze, unwavering and direct, he felt he might have been overthinking it. 0

"Do I really have to show it?" 0

"Yes!" 0

Reluctantly, Yan Kongyue reached into her bag and pulled out her identification, handing it over to the officer. 0

He accepted her credentials without hesitation, but when he opened them, he became noticeably unsettled. 0
