Qin Ze had been silent the entire way, his mind replaying every event that had occurred at home before his younger brother went abroad. Aside from their mother remarrying, which had caused his brother to act out and his grades to drop, it seemed nothing particularly noteworthy had happened. Just as he was getting out of the car, he tried to reassure himself. 0

How did it come to this, thinking about his brother before even reaching home? 0

With that thought, the anxiety he had been holding onto tightened painfully in his chest. 0

Lin Qian and Huo Jingyu sensed that something was off. They quietly followed behind Yan Kongyue, hesitant to speak up. However, Yan Kongyue suddenly stopped and whispered, "Do you two want to see who that ghost in his house is?" 0

Following the direction of Yan Kongyue's chin, Lin Qian turned to glance at Qin Ze, who was looking down. 0

"We could see it a couple of days ago at the hospital," Lin Qian asked in confusion. 0

"That’s different! That Gui Lao Tai is a ghost raised by someone else, fed with human flesh. It's notorious; of course, you could see it." 0

"Raised by someone else?" 0

"Yes! Don’t worry; it’s not time to settle scores yet. You two decide if you want to open your senses first. Once we go up, there won’t be any time for that. At that point, you’ll have to listen to Fourth Brother tell you about it!" 0

"Can we get a membership or something? It would save us from bothering you next time!" Lin Qian perked up. Having died once and knowing about Yan Kongyue's abilities, plus seeing her summon Ox-Head and Horse-Face, he was no longer afraid. 0

"I want to know too," Huo Jingyu chimed in, though Yan Kongyue didn’t seem as concerned. 0

"Confirmed!" 0

"Okay!" 0

The group stepped into the elevator. Qin Ze was too preoccupied with their banter to pay attention; he pressed the button and stared at the ascending numbers. 0

"Ready?" 0

"Alright, let’s go!" Lin Qian took a martial stance. 0

Yan Kongyue silently recited a spiritual incantation, and golden light from her fingertips entered the foreheads of both Lin Qian and Huo Jingyu. Just as Qin Ze was about to say something, the elevator doors opened. He quickly covered his mouth as he exited but kept his eyes on Yan Kongyue. 0

The stairwell was eerily cold despite it being summer. As Lin Qian and Huo Jingyu activated their Ling Yan abilities upon exiting the elevator, it felt as if they had stepped into another realm—everything appeared gray and dim. 0

Huo Jingyu, initially curious and excited, instinctively shrank back. Activating Ling Yan not only allowed them to see things ordinary people couldn’t but also opened their spiritual senses. A person's spirit consists not only of the soul but also of the spirit itself; however, due to physical and temporal limitations, one needed power from the Three Heavens to unlock their spirit. 0

Yan Kongyue's spirit was pure and sacred—Wanling Source—once activated by her, Lin Qian and Huo Jingyu were no longer like ordinary people. 0

With a click, the door opened. 0

The room was thick with dark energy. Lin Qian and Huo Jingyu led the way; at this moment, their bodily senses transcended normal human limits. Even without asking Yan Kongyue, they understood what the dark energy before them was. 0

"Please come in!" Qin Ze gestured for Lin Qian and Yan Kongyue to enter before summoning his courage to step inside himself. He knew that their arrival meant the truth would soon be revealed; yet, the closer he got to that truth, the more fear gripped him. 0

Even the indifference of his brother when he left had turned into a sense of grievance and helplessness. Qin Ze felt a pang of regret; why had he only realized this now? 0

As soon as Yan Kongyue stepped into the room, a visible dark aura floated toward her and was absorbed by her body. Lin Qian, like a child, looked at Yan Kongyue and then at himself. However, just like Lin Langhuo Jing, the dark aura merely maintained a certain distance from them and did not touch them. 0

He had questions in his heart, but he also knew that this was not the time to ask. 0

Qin Ze, do you want to see your brother? 0

Still lost in his regret, Qin Ze subconsciously nodded at Yan Kongyue's words, not fully grasping the true meaning behind them. 0
