That guy, always so gloomy; who knows how deep his secrets run?
Tan Ming explained, "The first time Zhang Liu predicted that the werewolf was the murderer, I thought it was false. As for the second time when he predicted that Dr. Wang was the killer, that should be true. The third time, I asked him to predict who stole the traveler's Red Card. He said it was the werewolf, but it was actually me. Zhang Liu figured it out too, but he lied because he was afraid everyone would suspect me."
Yan Qing countered, "Then why not Jiang Jie?"
Right now, the person I find most suspicious is Jiang Jie. She was the one who first used the Lie Detector on Zhang Liu and confirmed that the werewolf was the murderer. If that was false, then during her second Lie Detector test on Dr. Wang, the conclusion should have been that Dr. Wang was lying. But why is it that Dr. Wang wasn't lying? This is clearly contradictory.
"Could she be the murderer too?" Ling Xingyuan asked.
Tan Ming shook his head. He just couldn't make sense of this point; it didn't mean Jiang Jie was suspicious.
They didn't have time to doubt another person!
"No, let's not talk about her for now; let's focus on Zhang Liu. I believe he is trustworthy."
Ling Xingyuan scoffed dismissively.
Qi Qiuluo looked down on Tan Ming, and by extension, she also looked down on Zhang Liu, who was trying to curry favor with Tan Ming.
"How trustworthy?" Yan Qing asked him.
"Just like you trust Zhao Xiang," Tan Ming replied without hesitation.
His expression was serious.
Yan Qing completely trusted Zhao Xiang, so he agreed with Tan Ming's trust in Zhang Liu.
"Alright. Since you say so, I will trust you and also trust Zhang Liu," Yan Qing said.
At Fountain Square, Zhang Liu's phone beeped with a notification.
He saw a message from Tan Ming and his expression hardened.
Shen Jianghuan instinctively glanced at her phone as well and met Zhang Liu's gaze; she nodded slightly.
Half an hour later, Tan Ming and the others arrived.
Zhang Liu walked up to Qi Qiuluo with a stern face and an unhappy expression. "Where have you been?"
His tone was harsh, filled with dissatisfaction at her wandering off and not following the group's arrangements.
Qi Qiuluo raised an eyebrow, continuing to act as if he were above everyone else, dismissing anyone's concern. He walked past Zhang Liu.
"You!" Zhang Liu clenched his fists, his gaze coldly fixed on Qi Qiuluo's retreating figure.
Seeing him angry, Yan Qing approached and patted his shoulder. "We found him in the teaching building, but we have no idea what he was looking for."
"Looking for something?" Zhang Liu asked.
"He didn't say what it was; it doesn't matter," Yan Qing replied nonchalantly, adopting an attitude that since Qi Qiuluo wasn't talking, they had no reason to pry.
Dr. Wang sat on the ground, listening to this exchange. He lifted his eyes to look at Qi Qiuluo, who was isolated from the group.
No one knew what Dr. Wang was thinking. He calmly pulled up the zipper of his jacket and revealed a cryptic smile. His skin was pale, the kind that had never been tanned by sunlight, and when he smiled, his two dimples were particularly charming.
Qi Qiuluo seemed to sense something; he glanced over and met Dr. Wang's gaze before quickly looking away.
Dr. Wang chuckled softly to himself, thinking, Good.
He stood up.
Yan Qing noticed him getting up and asked, "Dr. Wang, are you going to the restroom?"
"Yes," Dr. Wang replied instinctively.
"The restroom is to the north; make sure you don't go the wrong way," Yan Qing reminded him.
Dr. Wang nodded in acknowledgment.
As he stepped away, he nearly collided with a student in front of him.
"Sorry," Dr. Wang said reflexively, slightly bowing his head in a polite gesture.
Seeing his courteous demeanor, the other person said nothing in response. Dr. Wang nodded and sidestepped to leave.
Yan Qing watched Dr. Wang depart, still unwilling to believe he was the culprit. He couldn't accept that he was the one who had poisoned or set the fire.
To him, a polite person was inherently good and couldn't be that malicious at heart.
Fountain Square was crowded with people; those who had been drawn into the circle were still inside, while everyone else, except for the messengers, was being organized efficiently by Xu Le and others.
After a heated argument with Tan Ming, the people in the square gradually began to realize the importance of unity. They started to support their own as the backbone, rather than blindly trusting the messenger.
