Yun Fan rode on the Chasing Wind Horse, sensing the unfriendly gazes around him. A cold smile crept onto his lips.
Although this place was chaotic and rife with bloody killings, the cultivation levels of these people were not high; most were at the True Essence Realm. It was rare to encounter those from the Xuan Yuan Realm, but occasionally he would come across a few, mostly at the early stages of their cultivation. In his eyes, such strength was nothing more than easy prey.
Soon, they arrived outside an inn named the Blood Red Inn. Zhou Da Cong glanced around a few times before leading Yun Fan inside.
The lobby was quite spacious, filled with numerous tables and chairs, yet there wasn't a single guest in sight. Just then, a young waiter approached with a flattering smile, slowly making his way from behind the counter. Upon seeing the two, he respectfully said, "Gentlemen, would you like to order something to eat?"
Yun Fan was about to speak up and order a meal; after all, he felt quite hungry after traveling for some time. However, Zhou Da Cong quickly interjected, "Forget about eating. Prepare us two guest rooms; we need to rest well tonight. Also, make sure to feed our Chasing Wind Horse properly."
Seeing Zhou Da Cong wink at him, Yun Fan felt puzzled but chose to hold back his questions.
The young waiter nodded and smiled as he replied, "Gentlemen, for the guest rooms and feed, it will be a total of three thousand spirit stones."
Both men frowned at this unexpected demand. They hadn't anticipated that staying in an inn would cost so much; it was simply outrageous. After all, three thousand spirit stones could buy the entire inn—not just a single night's stay.
Noticing their displeasure, the waiter remained unfazed and chuckled, "Gentlemen, please don't think of our little establishment as greedy. In this Bloody City, where chaos reigns and killings are rampant, finding a place to stay is already quite fortunate. If you were to stay outside, you could lose your life at any moment. By staying in our inn, at least you have some assurance."
Hearing this, Zhou Da Cong could only grit his teeth and reluctantly pulled out three thousand spirit stones from his Storage Ring, handing them over with a cold voice. "Take good care of our horses outside. If anything happens to them, I will tear down your inn."
The waiter accepted the spirit stones with a beaming smile and softly replied.
"Rest assured, the horses outside will be well taken care of," said Zhou Da Cong as they made their way to the second floor after finishing their business.
"Yun Fan, in our line of work, it's best to avoid eating anything from outside. What if this inn is a black shop and they’ve slipped some poison or sleeping drugs into the food? We could end up paying the price," he continued, his voice low and serious.
Even at night, one must remain cautious. It’s best not to fall into a deep sleep, lest someone sneak into our room and attempt to kill us for our belongings.
Yun Fan nodded in agreement. Normally, he wouldn’t think much of such warnings, but now, being in Blood Demon Valley surrounded by desperate and wicked individuals, he understood the need for vigilance. You never know if there might be a black shop lurking around.
They reached the second-floor guest rooms, where they each selected a room to stay in. Zhou Da Cong chose one next door.
As Yun Fan entered his room, he took in the simple decor—just a table and some chairs. The bed was nothing more than a wooden frame with a thin mattress that emitted a musty odor.
