Zhou Da Cong cleared his throat gently and sincerely addressed the crowd around him.
"Thank you to all the elders, thank you to all the assessment disciples, thank you to my mom, thank you to my dad. I especially want to thank Yun Fan; without him, there would be no me today. Everything I have is thanks to his help. And I must give a special thanks to the Wang Widow from the neighboring village, who taught me how to find happiness and helped me understand the transition from boyhood to manhood."
The crowd was momentarily stunned by his words. Was this something one could openly say? The elders standing on the platform frowned, their expressions darkening.
Feng Xiaotian immediately waved his hand to stop him. "Alright, alright. You talk too much; hurry up and step aside."
Zhou Da Cong scratched his head and chuckled as he moved to the side. Yun Fan quickly covered his face, not wanting to look at Zhou Da Cong, as if they were strangers.
Soon, one by one, people came forward, and the tenth person was Yan Zhenqing. The moment he stepped up, he glared at Yun Fan like a sworn enemy, wishing he could skin him alive.
Feng Xiaotian announced that these ten had officially become Inner Sect Disciples of the Heavenly Sword Sect, while the others who passed the assessment were designated as Outer Sect Disciples.
Suddenly, a loud scream echoed from the sky as a massive white crane dove down at incredible speed. Many disciples gasped in shock; this crane was at least a Third-Order Beast level. They quickly mobilized their Dantian energy, ready to strike down this beast.
Feng Xiaotian raised his hand urgently to calm everyone down. "There’s no need to panic; this is a Third Tier spirit beast known as Feng Ling He raised by our Sect. It won’t attack you."
As the Third Tier Feng Ling He landed gracefully and spread its enormous wings, it appeared very docile, unlike other ferocious beasts.
Yun Fan felt a bit surprised; indeed, the Heavenly Sword Sect had formidable resources capable of taming a Third-Order Beast. It was known that a Third-Order Beast had reached Xuanjing level strength; even the Yun Family could have one as an elder or establish a significant family with it. Yet here in the Heavenly Sword Sect, it was merely a mount.
Feng Xiaotian led Yun Fan, Qin Xiao, Yao Zhou Da Cong, and ten other disciples as they ascended. He warned everyone to circulate their spiritual energy to protect themselves from the winds and turbulence above.
The ten nodded in agreement and quickly surrounded themselves with spiritual energy, settling securely on Feng Ling He. The flying beast soon soared into the sky, carrying them toward the peak of Heavenly Sword Sect.
The remaining disciples were taken by Zongmen Zhishi into the Sect, where they were issued identity tokens, marking them as Outer Sect Disciples of Heavenly Sword Sect from that moment on.
After a brief flight, Feng Ling He entered the misty summit of Heavenly Sword Sect. Yun Fan gazed at the ethereal white fog before him, realizing it was composed entirely of condensed Spiritual Energy. It was evident how abundant the Spiritual Energy was in this place. Cultivating here would undoubtedly be dozens of times faster than in the outside world. No wonder the disciples of the Sect were so powerful; once they entered the Sect, they emerged at least at the Xuanjing level.
Before long, Feng Ling He let out a sharp cry and dove down, landing steadily in the plaza below. Surrounding them were several disciples dressed in white robes, gathered in small groups and whispering among themselves.
One man chuckled and remarked that only those who ranked in the top ten during assessments were qualified to enter the Inner Sect for cultivation.
