The sky had brightened at this moment.
In the main hall of the Yun Family Mansion, Yun Hao was discussing with several elders. They were preparing to send someone to speak with the Heartsick Tiger, hoping to present the gathered fifty thousand spirit stones in exchange for the release of their people.
Just then, a guard rushed in, excitement written all over his face, shouting loudly, "The young master and the clan members have returned!"
Yun Hao, sitting at the head of the table, was momentarily taken aback, his expression one of surprise. They had not yet delivered their spirit stones, yet the Heartsick Tiger had released their people. This left him utterly astonished.
With a heart full of excitement, he and the elders hurried outside to the Yun Family courtyard. There stood his son, Yun Chui, along with the clan members who had been captured.
At that moment, Yun Chui approached with a smile, respectfully saying, "Father!"
Seeing his son safe and sound brought an unexpected relief to Yun Hao; the worry on his face vanished in an instant, and a hint of color returned to his eyes. However, he still maintained a dignified demeanor and gently replied, "You’re back."
Yet, Yun Hao was filled with confusion and quickly asked, "Did Heartsick Tiger release you?"
Yun Chui scratched his head, appearing uncertain about how to respond. He glanced at Yun Fan beside him but eventually spoke up. "Father, it wasn’t Heartsick Tiger who let us go; it was Yun Fan who freed us."
"After we were released, there wasn’t a single bandit in sight on Wolf Head Mountain. We didn’t even see Heartsick Tiger. So we all came back to the Yun Family."
Hearing this, Yun Hao and the elders exchanged puzzled glances, their confusion deepening and even bordering on bewilderment.
Looking at Yun Fan before them, they wondered if he had single-handedly cleared Wolf Head Mountain and defeated Heartsick Tiger to rescue their clan members. However, this young man was still so young; even as the family's top Heavenly Talent, he had only just broken through to True Essence Realm. How could he possibly have defeated Heartsick Tiger?
Yun Fan looked at the puzzled expressions of the crowd and smiled as he explained, "Uncle Hao, it wasn't me who took action this time. An elder from our family came and dealt with the bandits at Wolf Head Mountain, slaying the Heartsick Tiger and saving everyone."
Upon hearing this, the members of the Yun Family suddenly understood. It turned out that an elder had arrived to eliminate the Heartsick Tiger. This made sense, as the elders of the family were all at least at the Xuan Yuan Realm; killing a Heartsick Tiger would be a piece of cake for them.
Yun Hao nodded, though he still felt a sense of confusion. If an elder had come, they would surely have discussed it with everyone. How could they have sneaked into Wolf Head Mountain without anyone noticing? They had saved everyone, yet there was no sign of the elder.
However, he didn't dwell on it too much. Since the Heartsick Tiger had been slain and the Yun Family members were safe, there was no longer any danger. He immediately reassured everyone and encouraged them to rest.
Yun Hao turned to Yun Fan, a smile on his face. The return of the Yun Family members was largely thanks to him. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a storage bag, respectfully saying, "Thank you, Fan Zi, for your assistance. I have prepared some local specialties; I hope they catch your eye."
Without waiting for a response, he directly placed the storage bag into Yun Fan's hands.
