The night was as dark as ink, with the howling wind seeming to foreshadow an impending storm. Inside An Lushan's study, the flickering light cast an unusually solemn shadow on his face. Ever since he learned of his hidden identity, he felt a heavy sense of responsibility and became aware of the lurking crisis around him.
"Taibai brother, how do you perceive the current situation?" An Lushan's voice was low and firm as he gazed through the window into the pitch-black night sky.
Li Bai sat on the other side of the desk, toying with an exquisite wine glass in his hand. After a moment of contemplation, he replied, "Brother Lushan, the current situation is indeed complex. Although we have secured the support of the Hui people tribe, there are still many within the court who harbor doubts about you. We must proceed with caution to avoid being exploited by the enemy."
An Lushan nodded in agreement. He took a deep breath and continued, "Taibai is absolutely right. I am fully aware of the great responsibility on my shoulders and dare not slack off in the slightest. We must remain vigilant at all times and guard against the enemy's schemes."
Just then, urgent footsteps were heard outside the door. A guard rushed in, looking tense, and reported, "General, there is urgent military intelligence!"
An Lushan frowned and asked in a deep voice, "What is the matter that is so urgent?"
The bodyguard took a deep breath and hurriedly said, "General, we have received a message from the border that a group of Turkic cavalry suddenly launched an attack, and our army suffered heavy losses. According to the scout's report, the leader of the Turkic cavalry seems to have some connection with the general."
An Lushan was surprised by this news. He hadn't expected the Turkic to launch an attack at this time. He composed himself and asked in a deep voice, "Who is the leader?"
The bodyguard replied, "It's the renowned Turkic general - Ashina Gulipiye."

I will personally go to the border and meet with this Turkic general."
Li Bai stood up upon hearing this. He knew well the danger of this mission, but he also understood An Lushan's determination and courage. In a deep voice, he said, "Lushan brother, I am willing to accompany you on this journey."
An Lushan looked at Li Bai gratefully and nodded. He quickly assembled an elite force, preparing to depart for the border that very night.
On the way to the border, An Lushan and Li Bai constantly discussed their strategies. They knew that facing the attacks of the Turkic cavalry, victory would be difficult to achieve through force alone. They must use their wisdom to find the enemy's weaknesses in order to defeat them in one fell swoop.
After several days of rushing about, they finally arrived at the border. At this point, the border was already in a state of devastation, with destroyed villages and ruins everywhere due to the ravages of war. Upon seeing this scene, An Lushan was filled with sorrow and anger. He vowed to avenge these innocent people.
In the military camp at the border, An Lushan met Ashina Gulipiye. This Turkic general had a sturdy figure, a resolute face, and sharp glints in his eyes. When he saw An Lushan, a hint of surprise and complex emotions flashed in his eyes.
"An Lushan, you have indeed come," Ashina Gulipiye's voice was deep and hoarse.
An Lushan smiled faintly and replied calmly, "General Ashina, it has been a long time. I have come this time hoping that we can resolve our grievances and work together for the peace of both countries."
Ashina Gulipiye sneered and disdainfully said, "Resolve our grievances? Do you think I am a three-year-old child? Your family once betrayed our Turkic tribe, and I will never forget that hatred."
An Lushan took a deep breath and said in a deep voice, "General Ashina, hatred will only lead us to destruction. I hope that we can set aside past grievances and work together for the prosperity and strength of both countries."
Ashina Gulipiye fell into contemplation upon hearing this. He knew that An Lushan's words were not empty talk, but his deep-seated hatred made it difficult for him to let go.
Just then, a sudden sound of urgent hoofbeats came from outside the military camp. A scout rushed in, panting, and reported anxiously, "General, it's bad news! There are people within the court colluding with external enemies, attempting to harm the general!"
An Lushan and Li Bai were both shocked to hear this. They had not expected that at this critical moment, there would be traitors within the court. They had to take immediate action, or the consequences would be unimaginable.
