The two brothers began to argue back and forth over the position of the Enforcement Hall Master, but their contention was destined to be unresolved; it all depended on whom the old man was willing to support. As they bickered, the old man remained silent, clearly still undecided about who should take over. Perhaps his intention was to let them compete against each other to reveal their capabilities and hone their skills.
After a while of arguing, Lu Fei turned his gaze toward me when he noticed the old man wasn’t speaking. "Since you’re busy and I’m busy too, the Enforcement Hall needs someone from our family to oversee it. Third Brother, do you think you could help ease Father’s worries a bit?" Lu Fei asked with a smile. I was taken aback for a moment but quickly understood that Lu Fei had approached me with a purpose.
Compared to Lu Xian, Lu Fei was clearly more favorable toward me—offering me sports cars, villas, and yachts—but all these gestures were not without ulterior motives. He had first listened in to learn about me, gauging what kind of person I was, and then felt he could control me. He assigned me some tasks to test my abilities and realized I wasn’t as useless as he might have thought. Then he could position me as the Enforcement Hall Master, a role he couldn’t take on himself nor could Lu Xian!
This made me quite valuable to him. Naturally, I was willing to help ease Father’s burdens. I smiled and said, "What a great opportunity has fallen into my lap! How could I possibly refuse? Am I crazy?"
Initially, I had planned to take some time off before looking for a suitable opportunity to get involved with Qing Gang's affairs, but it seemed unnecessary now; Lu Fei had already thought everything through for me!
"Can he really do it?" Lu Xian frowned upon hearing this. He knew very well that Lu Fei was being nice to me; it was impossible for him not to see through Lu Fei's calculations. In truth, Lu Fei had long known he wouldn’t be able to become the Enforcement Hall Master. His initial competition with Lu Xian for the position was merely a facade, designed so that I could take on the role of Enforcement Hall Master!
"Why not? Third Brother has been handling many matters for me these past few days. He’s not just some rich kid who only knows how to eat, drink, and have fun; he has some capability too. Besides, we just need someone from our family watching over that place; Third Brother doesn’t even need to be the main master—being a relaxed deputy would be enough," Lu Fei said with a smile.
So he wanted me to be the deputy master? That made sense; as a member of the Lu Family, whether I served as the main master or deputy in the Enforcement Hall would ultimately be up to me. What Lu Fei was doing indicated that he feared my abilities might not be sufficient; he still wanted someone else as the Enforcement Hall Master but needed me there just to keep an eye on things.
Lu Ding Tian’s eyes flickered with interest upon hearing this. It truly made sense that there needed to be someone from our family overseeing the Enforcement Hall; Lu Fei’s plan was indeed clever and currently the only viable solution. Even if Lu Xian wanted to refuse, it seemed unlikely he could do so.
"Xiao Fei, your suggestion is quite reasonable. Since Xiao Yan, you don't have much to say, shall we go with this?" Lu Ding Tian smiled as he looked at me. Although things at home were not entirely peaceful and Grandpa San was also playing tricks, the only commendable aspect of the Lu Family was that everyone maintained a semblance of politeness. Lu Fei had initially asked for my opinion, and Lu Ding Tian also put on a facade of respecting my decision.
With Lu Ding Tian speaking up, Lu Xian naturally had nothing more to say. Aunt Wu remained as she always was, hardly participating in our conversation. Thus, this matter was happily settled. I would take office tomorrow.
I became the Deputy Hall Master of the Enforcement Hall, which was a significant change from before. Previously, Lu Fei and Lu Xian had treated me with courtesy; now they were even more polite.
Especially Lu Xian. As the three of us just stepped out of Lu Ding Tian's villa, he suddenly grabbed my arm. "Third Brother, you've been here for a while now, and I haven't taken you out to have some fun. I know you like to play. I have a fantastic place in mind with beauties from all over the world. What do you say? Tonight, I'll arrange a great time for you; you wouldn't refuse me, would you?"
"Wow!" I thought to myself. Lu Xian's attitude was quite domineering; he completely disregarded Lu Fei who was watching from the side. If I went with Lu Xian now, it would mean offending Lu Fei; conversely, if I chose Lu Fei, I would be going against Lu Xian. This decision came a bit too suddenly and too quickly.
"Sorry, brother! I just told Third Brother that we should check out that new Pagani soon. Chasing girls can wait; you know how it is—Pagani cars are limited editions! If we delay, someone else might snatch it up," Lu Fei said with a smile. Honestly, buying a supercar for him seemed as easy as buying a toy car!
It seemed that Lu Fei had spoiled me as his Third Brother; every day it was either Lamborghini or Ferrari, and today he had brought up Pagani again.
"This beauty of a car still depends on what Third Brother likes, right? Isn't that right, big brother?" Lu Xian smirked and then deliberately reminded me, "You know, even limited edition cars can be obtained anytime as long as you have the strength. Third Brother, come with me tonight; after we have our fun with the ladies, I'll let you pick any car you want!"
Lu Xian looked at me with a smirk on his face. His overall strength in Qing Gang surpassed that of Lu Fei by quite a bit; he was intentionally reminding me of this fact.
Following the strong is certainly not wrong, but I smiled and shook my head. "Sorry, brother. I know about that Pagani you're talking about; I've liked it for a long time. I promised big brother yesterday that I'd check it out first thing tomorrow. How about we hang out then?"
Upon hearing this, Lu Xian's expression immediately turned cold.
"Third Brother, think carefully; perhaps tomorrow there won't be another opportunity."
"Haha! What are you talking about? It's just women! Come on, Third Brother! After we buy the car, big brother will still take you to have fun with the ladies!"
Having made my choice, Lu Fei laughed heartily and put his arm around my shoulder as we walked away, leaving behind a cold-faced Lu Xian watching us leave.
I chose to stick with Lu Fei because he was smarter than Lu Xian. Although Lu Fei was currently at a slight disadvantage, situations could change rapidly. I felt confident that following Lu Fei would allow me to deal with Lu Xian effectively; however, if I followed Lu Xian instead, I wasn't sure whether both he and I would end up being eliminated by Lu Fei together.
Lu Fei was very mysterious; he was definitely not as simple as he appeared. Now that I had chosen him, being by his side allowed me to uncover some of his secrets. After all, we were destined to be enemies.
Lu Fei dismissed his driver and got into my Ferrari. Today was indeed as Lu Xian had said; a Pagani had just arrived in Shanghai, a limited edition, and Lu Fei was genuinely taking me to buy it. I had witnessed Lu Fei's extravagance before; the Pagani, worth over forty million, had just been delivered to the store and hadn’t even been there for a day before Lu Fei bought it and gifted it to me.
The seductive roar of the supercar filled the air as I drove it around amidst envious gazes from everyone. It felt exhilarating and glamorous! However, those who envied me only knew that I was a super-rich young master from the Lu Family; how many of them truly understood the story behind me?
"Do you like it?"
After a lap, Lu Fei leaned against the car window with a beaming smile, his little mustache slightly raised.
"I love it, thank you, big brother!"
I replied cheerfully to Lu Fei, but in truth, I didn’t feel grateful at all. Although Lu Fei had given me many things, he never intended to give them to me for free from the start.
Moreover, considering our families were sworn enemies, my original mission was to eliminate his!

Lu Fei smiled and climbed into the passenger seat of my car. He fastened his seatbelt and told me about a place where one could live a dreamlike life.
