The next day, news came from Zheng Yu regarding the negotiations with Molly. Just as I had anticipated, Molly expressed her gratitude for the sincerity of Huaxia Qing Gang. However, she mentioned that the Huaxia Police were too strict on drug control. If they were to cooperate, Molly was willing to lower her price by eight percent, but she needed Qing Gang to handle the transportation.
I reported this negotiation condition to Fang Ying. After listening, Fang Ying pondered for a moment and said she needed to communicate with her superiors. Ten minutes after hanging up, Fang Ying called me back to inform me that it was approved!
That settled the matter; the deal was on.
Fang Ying also shared another piece of news with me. "Xiang Dong, I've reviewed your plan with Qu Gui, and so have the higher-ups. They think it’s worth exploring. Come by my office this afternoon when you have time," Fang Ying said.
I acknowledged her request. It was no surprise that Fang Ying was aware of my dealings with Qu Gui; her position in Qing Gang was undoubtedly higher than Qu Gui's. If Qu Gui wanted to collaborate with me, he would certainly have informed Fang Ying.
In the afternoon, I arrived at Kyoto Central District, specifically at the headquarters of Tian Ye Gang. The Tian Ye Gang headquarters in Kyoto Central District was not under the jurisdiction of Kyoto Headquarters. Previous Kyoto Masters typically did not stay in the central district, but Fang Ying had made it her base.
I entered Fang Ying's office, which was simply decorated but filled with a faint fragrance that seemed to emanate from her.
"You're here; take a seat," she said with a smile from her office chair. Her simple ponytail exuded confidence, and the white shirt she wore highlighted her beauty, reminiscent of a Tianshan snow lotus—pure and stunning. Yet through the collar of her shirt, one could faintly glimpse a deep and alluring abyss.
I had to admit that Fang Ying was captivating; her presence easily stirred a man's desire for conquest.
I smiled back and settled onto the sofa across from Fang Ying. She picked up the phone on her desk and dialed a number. "Please notify the general manager that Xiang Dong has arrived."
Notify the general manager? It seemed I was about to meet someone even more formidable than Fang Ying today. This general manager must be the head of Tian Ye Gang, right? Was he perhaps the one who had led the attack on Linna's family and seized their assets?
Before long, a young man pushed open the office door and walked in. He was dressed in a suit and looked handsome, but oddly enough, I felt he looked somewhat familiar!
However, the head of Tian Ye Gang was a mysterious figure who had never appeared in the media. As far as I knew, only those at the Helmsman level had ever met him. So why did I feel like I recognized him?
"Du Zong, this is Xiang Dong," Fang Ying introduced him.
The usually proud Fang Ying stood up and respectfully addressed the young man.
"Du Zong?"
The surname Du? In the 1980s, the Qu Family replaced the Du Family as the leaders of Qing Gang. He is from Qing Gang, and with such a high status, he wouldn't be related to the Du Family, would he? I thought for a moment and quickly dismissed that idea. Since the Qu Family had replaced the Du Family, how could they possibly allow the Du Family to operate within Qing Gang? It seemed this Du was not the same as that Du, but why did he look so familiar to me?
"Xiang Dong, right? I'm Du Tao."
Du Tao turned to me and politely extended a hand. I quickly stood up and shook his hand. The boss of Tian Ye Gang—an impressive figure, powerful enough that a single word from him could determine my life or death.
"Please, have a seat."
Du Tao casually said as he sat down on the sofa. I took a seat beside him, while Fang Ying remained in her office chair, clearly not participating in the conversation between Du Tao and me.
"I reviewed the plan that Qu Gui submitted yesterday; it's good. So far, it can indeed be considered the best plan. However, your execution plan is not comprehensive enough. You know that it's impossible to gain their trust quickly by inserting people around them in such a short time. But bribing their associates is too risky; if those you bribe turn against you, then this matter could backfire."
Du Tao spoke slowly. After hearing this, I nodded in agreement; I knew my plan was not thorough enough.
But in reality, I had intentionally left gaps for them. I wanted them to determine the specific implementation plan so that if it failed, my responsibility would be minimized.
And I also understood that Du Tao calling me here meant he had filled in the blanks I left for him; he already had plans for me.
"So your two suggestions won't work, but I have one suggestion for you to consider," Du Tao said with a smile as he looked at me. Seeing his sly little eyes told me he was likely going to ask me for more effort.
"Go ahead," I replied generously.
"The leader of Hebei Province, Qian Cun Jin, will die tonight at Enforcement Hall. You will take his position. What you need to do is win over the remaining Helmsmen, lead them in a rebellion, and once you have gathered evidence, eliminate them!"
Du Tao said with a smile.
Damn! This is outrageous!
"You have no right to refuse," Du Tao continued with that same smile.
I nodded; what else could I say?
But why should Du Tao trust me?
However, for the sake of your safety during this operation, I’ve arranged for a bodyguard to accompany you. Come in!
With a loud command from Du Tao, a stunning woman walked in from outside. She had a curvy figure, fair skin, and long legs, exuding an air of nobility mixed with coldness, much like Fang Ying.
Damn it! I knew Du Tao wouldn’t easily trust me; he was sending someone to keep an eye on me!
Her name was Yue Qing, and she was no ordinary person. I estimated that even the three Liu Sen beside me wouldn’t stand a chance against her.
Du Tao looked at me with his lecherous eyes and said, "If you make any wrong moves, this woman will take you out immediately!"
What the hell! Three Liu Sen can’t even handle one of her? I figured she was probably more formidable than the world-class assassin I had killed at Golden Mountain Arena.
Thank you, Du Zong.
I had no way to refuse Du Tao’s arrangement; he wouldn’t allow me to say no. After hearing my response, Du Tao laughed heartily, patted my shoulder, and told me that I could start my new position tomorrow as the Helmsman in Hebei Province.
I entered the Tian Ye Gang headquarters alone but was leaving with a companion.
So, how old are you, beautiful?
As I got into the car and started the engine, I glanced at Yue Qing and asked. I just hoped this girl wouldn’t be seen by Linna; otherwise, I would be in trouble again.
The girl ignored me, staring coldly out the window.
Sigh.
I helplessly sighed as I drove towards the Security Company. Throughout the day, Yue Qing stayed right behind me without leaving my side. The worst part was that even when I went to the bathroom, she followed me in!
Sister! Can you wait outside? I can’t go with you standing there!
I said helplessly to Yue Qing at the bathroom door, attracting the attention of countless people from the Security Company. I had already informed Zheng Yu about her arrival; he knew what was going on.
Yue Qing stood there with her arms crossed over her ample chest, tilting her head as she watched me without saying a word.
I suspected she was mute!
"Do as you wish," I replied, feeling speechless. I headed into the bathroom, and Yue Qing followed me closely, which startled the guys who were already inside.
"What are you staring at? Just do your business!" Yue Qing barked.
"Damn it!" I exclaimed, shocked enough that I accidentally splashed some on my shoes.
So she wasn't mute after all.
After finishing in the restroom, I returned to the office and ordered all my men not to follow me around like that. My relationship with Yue Qing needed to be kept under wraps; having her shadowing me everywhere was clearly a form of surveillance.
If the Old Forces' Helmsman found out about this, how could I still work with them? Would they even trust me?
Once in the office, I called Fang Ying.
I explained the situation and the stakes involved. "Is it really necessary for my bodyguard to follow me into the restroom? Isn’t that a bit excessive?"
But how did Fang Ying respond?
"I can't help you with that. Why don't you just build a private restroom in your office? Be careful; if this operation fails, I can't guarantee your safety," she said slowly.
I was left speechless at that moment.
Tch.
Yue Qing watched me from the side, her disdain evident as she let out a cold laugh.
With my request denied, I hung up the phone. It was getting late, so I drove home, pondering how if she followed me to the restroom, what would happen when it came time for bed?
Later that night, as I lay on my bed, Yue Qing lay down right next to me.
"Hey, this isn't right! Can you not do this?" I protested, feeling a reaction stirring within me.
I glanced over at Yue Qing, who was now only in her underwear, and she calmly said, "You have to admit, I look pretty good." What was I supposed to do if we ended up sharing a bed all night?
