A warm current slowly flowed from the Dantian throughout his body. It turned out that this elixir was meant for healing, directly repairing the meridians damaged during childbirth and dual cultivation. His cultivation level suddenly surged, breaking through to the Refining Stage.
He could sense the movement of the air around him, even perceiving the direction of the true qi flow. He noticed that Zhao Gang's entire meridian system was converging towards the Heart Chamber. At that moment, he felt that if he made a move, he could easily defeat him.
Ling Xue hesitated, while Zhao Gang slowly opened his eyes, as if sensing something. Upon seeing Ling Xue, he was surprised; her aura seemed even more powerful than before. He thought to himself, hadn't I just absorbed Mo Da's essence and broken through to the Refining Qi Ninth Layer? The Tenth Layer felt within reach. How could she progress so rapidly after just one session of dual cultivation? It seemed her aura was about to surpass mine. Could she be a rare talent in cultivation or perhaps a disciple of that master? She clearly hadn’t learned this technique, yet she appeared to be operating it more fluidly than I did. At this rate, she would likely surpass me in just a few days; such Ding Lu would greatly benefit me.
“There’s a Washing Marrow Pill here that I obtained from my master. You have great potential; refining this pill will significantly enhance your cultivation. Go ahead and refine it,” he said.
Ling Xue did not refuse; she took it immediately and sat down to refine it. Within her body, the Yin Yang Harmonizing Technique began to operate on its own, radiating an endless charm. Seeing this, Zhao Gang said, “I will lend you a hand,” and lifted Ling Xue up, their bodies merging and releasing a surge of energy.
After a stormy session, Zhao Gang panted heavily. “You’re only at the Refining Stage; how can you be this powerful? Are you some kind of natural medium, stronger than my Vajra Body?”
Ling Xue’s eyes sparkled with brilliance as her aura grew even stronger. She directly absorbed Zhao Gang’s energy, propelling her cultivation straight to the Refining Qi Ninth Layer.
Zhao Gang felt himself thinning out as Ling Xue absorbed his energy; his once corpulent body became much more toned, and the impurities within him were purged. He wondered what kind of technique this was that allowed one to replenish another’s strength. At that moment, his own cultivation reached its peak in the Refining Stage, seemingly just a step away from foundation establishment.
The two continued their training; their internal energies circulated so powerfully that they melted half of the surrounding furniture and bedding. They practiced day and night for over half a month.
In another corner of Zhao Mansion, Xiu Er and Cui Er whispered to each other. “The master and mistress haven’t left their room for several days now. Could something be troubling them?”
Xiu Er frowned with concern and said, “Cui Er, we need to find a way to figure out what’s going on. The master and mistress have always been affectionate; it’s unusual for them to have meals sent to their room.”
Cui Er nodded in agreement. “Yes, I heard that the master has been practicing an Advanced Cultivation Technique recently. Could there be an issue with his Gongfa? We need to find an opportunity to check on them.”
After pondering for a moment, Xiu Er suggested, “Let’s do this: tonight while they are resting, we’ll quietly eavesdrop outside their room. But we must be careful not to let them notice us.”
Cui Er agreed with a nod, and the two began preparing for their nighttime investigation of Zhao Mansion. They tiptoed through the courtyard until they reached the door of the master and mistress's room. Through the window, they faintly heard some voices.
Xiu Er and Cui Er held their breath and listened intently. They heard the master asking about the mistress's progress in her cultivation. The mistress replied, “I feel some changes occurring but still need more time to fully grasp it.”
Exchanging glances filled with confusion, they decided to continue eavesdropping in hopes of gathering more clues. Just as they were focused intently on listening, they suddenly heard a noise that startled them into hiding.
It turned out that one of the guards patrolling had discovered them. The guard asked why they were there, and Xiu Er cleverly replied, “We were worried about the master and mistress, so we came to check.” Seeing they were just maids from the household, the guard didn’t ask further questions and let them return inside.
