A few days later, Ling Na and Ling Xue arrived in Su City. They had just settled in when Ling Na's parents contacted them, saying they wanted to come for a visit.
After confirming the neighborhood, one day, Ling Na's parents arrived at the entrance of the community. The security guard looked at their humble appearance with a hint of disdain in his eyes.
Frowning, the guard asked, "Who are you looking for? This place isn't open to just anyone."
Ling Na's parents felt a bit awkward and quickly replied, "We're looking for our daughter, Ling Na. She lives here."
The guard scrutinized them from head to toe and skeptically said, "You’re her parents? You don’t look like it. Our management is strict here; without an owner to greet you, I can’t let you in. Everyone living here is a big shot, and anyone can claim to be their relatives. It’s hard for us to handle that."
Ling Na's parents were embarrassed by the guard's words and felt uncomfortable. They didn’t know what to do and could only stand at the entrance anxiously.
In desperation, they took out their phones to call Ling Yu.
At that moment, Ling Xue was still joking with Ling Na when she heard the phone ring. Ling Na picked up her phone and saw it was her parents calling.
Surprised, she said to Ling Xue, "Why are my parents calling? Did they arrive?"
Ling Xue laughed and replied, "Maybe! Hurry and answer it."
Ling Na answered the call and heard her parents anxiously explaining that they were being stopped by the security guard. She quickly asked Ling Xue to go meet her parents at the entrance.
Transforming into Ling Yu, Ling Xue hurried to the entrance of the community. Seeing her parents being harassed by the guard ignited a surge of anger within her.
Ling Yu confronted the guard, saying, "These are my in-laws! How can you treat them like this?"
Seeing Ling Yu angry, the guard quickly apologized, "I’m sorry! I didn’t know they were your relatives. I’ll let them in right away."
Ling Yu led his parents into the community, where Ling Na and Ling Xue were waiting. Upon seeing her parents feeling wronged, Ling Na said with concern, "Mom and Dad, are you okay? That guard was too much."
Ling Na's parents shook their heads and replied, "We’re fine; we just didn’t expect this to happen."
Ling Yu quickly reassured them, "Uncle and Auntie, don’t be upset; that guard just doesn’t understand. Let’s go inside and not let this affect our mood."
When they arrived at the grand villa, they were stunned by the sight before them. The villa was magnificent and imposing, with an extraordinary exterior. The tall porch and exquisite carvings showcased luxury and prestige.
Surrounding the villa was a beautifully landscaped garden filled with blooming Xian Zhi flowers and lush green grass, resembling a picturesque painting.
As they entered the villa, the interior decor left them in awe. The spacious and bright hall featured luxurious chandeliers and high-end furniture; every detail revealed the owner's taste and wealth.
Moreover, there were servants bustling about in neat uniforms, respectfully ready to serve Ling Na and Ling Yu at any moment.
Ling Na's parents stood in the hall feeling somewhat lost. They had never imagined their daughter would live such a life.
Ling Father remarked with emotion, "I never expected Lina would live in such a place with servants attending to her."
Ling Mother nodded in agreement, her eyes filled with pride. "It seems that Ling Yu truly cares for Lina; we can rest easy now."
However, there was a hint of worry in their hearts. Was this kind of life truly suitable for their daughter? They feared that she might lose herself in such an environment.
Ling Na noticed her parents' concerns. She walked over, took their hands, and said, "Mom, Dad, don't worry. I know what I'm doing. I will cherish my current life and make the most of it."
Ling Yu also approached, sincerely saying, "Uncle, Aunt, you can rest assured. I will always take care of Ling Na."
One night, Ling Na's parents made an excuse to say they wanted to spend more time with their child and decided to stay at the villa. Ling Na and Ling Yu didn't think much of it; they busied themselves taking care of the children, preparing for them to rest early.
Ling Na gently told stories to the children, coaxing them to sleep, while Ling Yu helped organize the children's toys nearby.
Ling Na's parents were in the living room. On the surface, they were watching television, but their ears were perked up, listening to the sounds coming from the room.
"Do you think they are sharing a bed?" Lin Father whispered to Lin Mother. "I just can't shake this uneasy feeling."
