Liu Jiedong noticed that Ling Xue was feeling off and gently asked, "Baby, what's wrong? Are you unhappy?"
Ling Xue pouted and replied, "Are you often out there flirting with other girls?"
Liu Jiedong quickly explained, "How could that be? Baby, don’t listen to what others say. You’re the only one in my heart."
Ling Xue remained unconvinced. "Then why do you always go to places like Jun Yue Club?"
Liu Jiedong sighed, "That's all for business socializing. I can't help it, but I promise I’ve never done anything to betray you."
He was good at comforting her and immediately promised to buy her a car. "Baby, don’t be upset, okay? I’ll get you a car. What brand do you like?"
Ling Xue mentioned that she hadn’t gotten her driver’s license yet, and Liu Jiedong quickly contacted someone to arrange it, saying she could have it in a few days. This lifted Ling Xue's spirits considerably, and she agreed to his affectionate advances.
On the third day, Ling Xue discovered that she had gotten her period. The system prompted that since she hadn’t been masculine for a long time, her female reactions would increase, and she might start ovulating next month.
As complex emotions surged within her again, Ling Xue found herself uncertain about what the future held.
During the day, Liu Jiedong's villa was bustling with servants moving about, and bodyguards followed him when he went out. Most of the time, Ling Xue was inseparable from Liu Jiedong. This close interaction began to stir unease within her; she started to fear whether she was truly heading down the path of pregnancy and forced marriage. What if Liu Jiedong really had other women? She hadn’t planned on contributing so much for the sake of a mission.
Ling Xue thought about what she wanted to do but felt limited by her lack of education. All she had was an ID card showing that she was younger than Ling Yu—only 18 years old. If she truly were an 18-year-old woman with such experiences, it could be considered a rich emotional life. She found herself deeply entangled in confusion, unsure of what direction to take in the future.
Looking out at the scenery through the window, her mind raced with thoughts. She yearned for her own life and career instead of relying solely on Liu Jiedong. Yet reality left her feeling lost and helpless. She didn’t know how to break free from this predicament and find her own path.
That night, while being intimate with Liu Jiedong, Ling Xue mustered the courage to express her desire for independence. She explained that she felt insecure without money; although Liu Jiedong had given her a credit card, she had never used it before. After hearing this, Liu Jiedong agreed to give her a monthly allowance of ten thousand.
However, even after their intimacy, Ling Xue insisted on wanting to work. Liu Jiedong then inquired about her educational background. Ling Xue reluctantly admitted that she didn’t have any qualifications.
Liu Jiedong seemed displeased upon hearing this and recalled their previous conversation about buying a mask. He asked, "Didn’t you say before that it was for family reasons when you ran away from home? What’s your actual situation?"
Ling Xue had no choice but to explain again that it was indeed family-related and that she had left home. After a moment of silence, Liu Jiedong finally agreed to help her obtain a college diploma, saying it could be arranged quickly.
Ling Xue felt both grateful and anxious; she didn’t know what this decision would bring for her future, but at least it seemed like she was one step closer to the independence she desired.
