Ling Xue stood quietly in the center of the house, her gaze slowly sweeping across every corner as she imagined the scenes of life that would unfold here, her heart filled with anticipation and longing.
At that moment, a call came in from Ling Na. The phone rang, and as Ling Xue picked it up, she saw it was Ling Na calling, a warm feeling surged within her. "Hello, Ling Na," Ling Xue said cheerfully.
"Ling Xue, the detective agency is registered now; it's called Xue Na Detective Agency. Hou Kang has joined us too. The location has been confirmed, but I had to cover some expenses upfront since we were short on funds. I put in ten thousand. When can you transfer the money to me?" Ling Na's voice carried a hint of expectation.
Ling Xue frowned slightly, thinking for a moment before responding, "Ling Na, don’t worry; I will definitely get the money to you. I just finished the renovations for Zhenpin Lanwan and spent quite a bit. Once I sort out my current matters, I’ll transfer it to you."
"Alright, please do it as soon as possible. There’s still a lot to handle at the agency," Ling Na replied.
"I understand. By the way, how is everything going at the agency?" Ling Xue asked with concern.
"Everything is going smoothly so far; we’re just a bit tight on funds. But once you transfer the money, we should be fine," Ling Na answered.
"That's good to hear. I'm planning to give you another ten thousand; that should help ease some of the financial pressure. But I'm starting to feel a bit of a headache myself—I’ve realized I’m out of money," Ling Xue said helplessly.
"What? What are you going to do?" Ling Na sounded a bit anxious.
"Don't worry; I still have some funds available." While on the phone, Ling Xue opened her account and exchanged skill points for ten thousand, transferring it to Ling Na.
"That's great! Ling Xue, you’re amazing!" Ling Na's voice was filled with admiration.
"Haha, it’s nothing much. By the way, how have you been lately?" Ling Xue asked.
"I'm doing alright; just a bit tired from all the work at the agency. But thinking about our future makes everything worthwhile," Ling Na replied.
"Yes, let’s work hard together. I've enrolled in driving school and am preparing for my driving test. I practice three times a week and will take the test in a month," Ling Xue said.
"That sounds good! Getting your driver's license will make traveling much easier," Ling Na responded.
Just then, Ling Xue heard some news from the antique market: the Ping An Princess Mask would be auctioned in Shencheng. "Ling Na, I just heard some news—the Ping An Princess Mask is going up for auction in Shencheng. I feel like I need to go there," Ling Xue said.
"Shencheng? That’s a great place! It’s definitely worth your trip. But you must be careful," Ling Na reminded her with concern.
"Don’t worry; I’ll be cautious. You also need to stay safe at Xue Na Detective Agency; contact me anytime if anything comes up," Ling Xue replied earnestly.
"Okay, you can count on me. When do you plan to head to Shencheng?" Ling Na asked curiously.
"I'll go once I've wrapped up things in Su City. It should be soon," Ling Xue answered confidently.
"Alright then, take care on your journey. I look forward to hearing good news from you," Ling Na said with a smile.
"Yes, I will." After hanging up the phone, Ling Xue felt filled with anticipation and determination; she knew this trip to Shencheng would be an important journey.
