"Wow, who is that? She's stunning!" a young police officer whispered.
"I don't know, I've never seen such a beautiful woman before," another officer replied.
Some stared wide-eyed, as if unable to believe what they were seeing; others leaned in to whisper about the origins of the beautiful woman. Ling Xue was like a breathtaking painting, casting a strange atmosphere over the entire police station. Her beauty caused quite a stir; everyone who saw her seemed enchanted, involuntarily pausing their work to follow her every move with their gaze.
Ling Xue observed the reactions around her, feeling a whirlwind of emotions. She had never imagined that her appearance could cause such a sensation. But she had no time to dwell on these complex feelings; she had only one goal in mind—finding Zhao Xiaolei. With determined steps, she ignored the surrounding stares and walked straight to Officer Hou Hong's office.
She gently knocked on the door, and a low voice from inside said, "Come in." Ling Xue pushed the door open and saw Hou Hong sitting at his desk with a serious expression. As soon as he saw her, his brows furrowed.
"What are you doing here? I told you I don’t want to get involved in your matters," Hou Hong said coldly.
Ling Xue bit her lip and replied, "Officer Hou, I know you mind my past, but I really need your help this time. Zhao Xiaolei has deceived many people; we must find him and not let him get away."
Hou Hong scoffed, "Just because of you? A former woman of the night can do what?"
A glimmer of stubbornness flashed in Ling Xue's eyes. "Officer Hou, although I have an unsavory past, I truly want to turn over a new leaf and seek justice for the victims. Please believe me; I will do everything I can to assist you."
Hou Hong paused for a moment but shook his head. "No, I can't violate principles because of you."
Feeling anxious, Ling Xue took a deep breath. A determined look crossed her face as she activated her skill, Mihun. In an instant, a mysterious power began to radiate from her.
Hou Hong's initially cold gaze gradually softened as he looked at Ling Xue; his resistance began to wane without him realizing it.
"Alright, tell me the specifics," he said, his tone much more relaxed.
Ling Xue quickly recounted the details of the situation. Hou Hong listened attentively and occasionally asked questions. With her skill in effect, Hou Hong's attitude toward Ling Xue shifted noticeably. He swiftly conducted a search through the police system and soon found Zhao Xiaolei's hometown and several addresses. It turned out that Zhao Xiaolei was from Liulu City.
Upon learning this news, Ling Xue and Ling Na immediately decided to take a train to Liulu City. Filled with hope, they set off on their journey to find Zhao Xiaolei, determined to bring this fraudster to justice.
