"Don't worry, Tiger Brother will take good care of you." Hei Hu's smile carried a hint of pride, as if he had already forgotten the earlier incident involving Dai Dong.
Hei Hu was about to reach out directly, but Ling Xue gently pushed his hand away and smiled, "Tiger Brother, don't rush. Let's finish this drink first."
Hei Hu laughed heartily and raised his glass to drink with Ling Xue in one go.
"Tiger Brother, can we find a quieter place? I don't like doing this with others watching," Ling Xue said.
Hei Hu pondered for a moment before signaling for his companions to leave.
At this point, Hei Hu was already somewhat intoxicated, his gaze becoming increasingly hazy. His hand rested on Ling Xue's shoulder as he mumbled some incoherent words. Ling Xue subtly freed herself from Hei Hu's grip and playfully chided, "Tiger Brother, you've had so much to drink already. Why don't you take a break? Let's just chat for a bit."
Hei Hu let out a burp and chuckled, "Chat? Come on, let's keep drinking! We have to enjoy ourselves tonight."
Ling Xue felt anxious; she needed to seize the opportunity while his consciousness was still somewhat clear to use her Charm Skill. If she waited until he was completely drunk, the chance would be wasted. So she pretended to comply, picked up her glass again, clinked it with Hei Hu's, and said, "Tiger Brother, I'll toast you with this drink. But you have to promise me that after this drink, you'll take a break."
Hei Hu laughed and replied, "Alright, alright. I'll do whatever you say." With that, he tilted his head back and downed the contents of his glass.
Watching Hei Hu set down his glass, Ling Xue quietly spoke to the system in her mind: "System, I want to use Charm Skill on Hei Hu now."
"Received. Host, the skill has been activated. Please issue your command within five seconds." The system's voice echoed in Ling Xue's mind.
Ling Xue looked into Hei Hu's eyes, which seemed to carry an invisible force. In a gentle yet firm tone, she said, "Hei Hu, you feel very sleepy right now; your eyes are so heavy that you can't keep them open. Close your eyes and fall asleep."
Hei Hu's previously hazy gaze suddenly became vacant as if all consciousness had been drained from him. He mechanically responded with a soft "Mm," then slowly closed his eyes. Before long, even breathing sounds filled the air; he had truly fallen into a deep sleep.
Seeing this, Ling Xue let out a sigh of relief. She knew time was tight; she only had five seconds to ask what she needed to know. Leaning closer to Hei Hu, she whispered, "Hei Hu, who exactly is Dai Dong? What is his connection to the club?"
In his sleep, as if under control, Hei Hu slowly began to speak: "That guy Dai Dong is just a scoundrel who specializes in deceiving women. He’s in cahoots with the club owner and often brings in girls he's tricked for the club to exploit them."
Ling Xue furrowed her brows and pressed on with her questions: "Where is he now? How can I find him?"
Hei Hu's voice remained flat and monotone as if reciting lines: "He often hangs around that abandoned factory in the south of the city. Sometimes he goes to the Secret Base behind the club."
Ling Xue wanted to ask more detailed questions but was interrupted by the system's alert: "Host, five seconds are about to expire; the skill will soon be ineffective. Please prepare."
Reluctantly, Ling Xue had to stop her inquiries. Just moments later, Hei Hu turned over and mumbled some indistinct words as if waking up. Ling Xue quickly sat up straight and tidied her slightly disheveled hair while reflecting on the crucial information she had just extracted from Hei Hu.
She knew she had now grasped some leads on Dai Dong and needed to verify this information carefully moving forward in order to find him and uncover the dark secrets hidden behind the entire club operation. However, since the cooldown time for Charm Skill was several hours long, she would have to think of other ways to handle any potential situations during that time.
Ling Xue glanced at the still-sleeping Hei Hu and bit her lip resolutely; no matter what happened, she was determined to get to the bottom of this matter and ensure that those who had harmed her sisters faced their due punishment.
As Hei Hu's breathing gradually steadied, Ling Xue quietly stood up and glanced out the window; the night was deepening.
