Like an ape, with a long tongue, this is Ao Yin!
The "Shen Yi Jing Xi Nan Huang Jing" records: In the western wasteland, there exists a creature, human-sized, dressed in tattered clothes, with claws like a tiger, known as the Dream Eater. It lurks alone and often consumes human brains. Its tongue can extend to over ten feet; if one makes a sound first and throws a large stone at its tongue, it will die from the impact. Otherwise, it will feast on human brains.
This is an ancient beast that delights in devouring human brains raw. It possesses immense strength, and all its magical power resides in that long tongue, making it excellent material for crafting magical artifacts.
With a whoosh, Mizhi Vajra wielded the golden wheel, slicing through that red tongue like cutting through gold or stone, producing dazzling sparks.
In the blink of an eye, amidst the miasma, sounds akin to arrows shooting forth erupted. It seemed that the Ao Yin beasts hidden within the fog were not just one but several.
These creatures are social beings!
Cut!
Zuo Ci focused his mind and made no inquiries. Entering the encirclement of such social ancient beasts would lead to no good outcome.
Sure enough, within the Wan Hun Fan, Sha Qi surged.
A feeble ghostly light began to form.
Mizhi Vajra has fallen!
"What did you discover?" Hong Niangzi asked urgently.
Zuo Ci replied calmly: "This Ailao Mountain indeed harbors great terror; even Ao Yin beasts are social creatures. I cannot ascertain their numbers; it could be ten or even more. Once we fall into their encirclement, it may spell disaster!"
"Then should we retreat?" Hong Niangzi pursed her lips. The treasure hunt at Ailao Mountain was her suggestion; if they backed out now, Fang Dao Ren might not be pleased.
If they were unwilling to part with some magical artifacts, this demon would likely not let them off easily!
"Mr. Fang, this time it's my fault. Let's withdraw; I will give you a satisfactory explanation!" Hong Niangzi gritted her teeth and said softly.
"No need!" Zuo Ci shook his head.
Danger and opportunity coexist.
He knew some secrets about Ao Yin.
That is to say, Ao Yin was once part of Ailao Mountain itself.
The citizens of Ailao Kingdom were descendants of great shamans who worshipped Gui Yan She Shen. They were particularly skilled in blood magic and enjoyed using human bones and blood as nourishment for Gu Chong. The king of Ailao Kingdom was named Liu Mao; he was brutal and had a penchant for consuming the hearts and brains of infants born in June. Ultimately, he even desecrated the divine.
The wrath of the gods descended, bringing forth a curse.
In the Ailao Kingdom, generations of mist and poisonous winds have fallen, while the stench of giant pythons lingers. The once proud inhabitants of this land now find themselves ensnared by their own curses, as the plagues ravage their existence.
Of course, these tales are mere wild histories. It is well known that such accounts may not be true, but they are certainly wild enough. There are records from predecessors that describe the Ailao Kingdom as a vast breeding ground for sinister creatures, where the ancient people serve as slaves to the Gui Yan She Shen, nurturing Gu Chong.
The gods sought immortality but ultimately fell, transforming into an endless miasma, leading to the kingdom's downfall. The truth and falsehoods intermingle, unworthy of consideration.
Interestingly, Ao Yin, the guardian beast of the Dragon Vein, has long coexisted with it, undergoing a transformation akin to that of a dragon. Within this Ailao Ancient Kingdom lies a significant Earth Dragon Vein. Moreover, Ao Yin is impervious to blades and firearms, making it the ideal choice for crafting Dragon Knights. If all the powerful souls remaining within the Wan Hun Fan were to be fused with Ao Yin's remains, it would undoubtedly become a tremendous asset in the future.
Whether it be the Dragon Vein or Ao Yin, he must have them both.
Zuo Ci grinned widely and turned to Hong Niangzi, saying, "It’s too dangerous for you to come along; you’re too weak!"
This statement carried a deeper meaning: "There’s no chance for you to be saved! You don’t even qualify to be a scapegoat. Rather than holding me back, it’s better for you not to enter."
Hong Niangzi obediently nodded. She understood that her strength would not aid Zuo Ci in any way; she could only wait in place.
"This is the Child-Mother Soul Guiding Talisman," he continued. "I hold the Mother Talisman; this one is Zi Fu. If you encounter any trouble, you can signal me through the Fulu. But if you find yourself in dire straits, I advise you to end your own life instead; otherwise, when I come out, I will have no choice but to kill you!"
Zuo Ci glanced at Hong Niangzi with indifference.
Pity for the delicate? Not a chance!
