Zuo Ci greedily absorbed the Yin Qi, realizing that what his opponent was using was neither a Dao Domain nor a Feng Shui Formation. It resembled a technique known as a barrier, a poor imitation stolen from Huaxia. Nevertheless, the concentration of Yin Qi was indeed thick.
"You must be one of the practitioners from China," Meiyan Qing said, wiping the blood-red remnants from his lips. A lazy smile crept across his face as he continued, "The blood of you Chinese is truly foul. Even that of an eighteen-year-old girl tastes like filthy sewage—utterly despicable!"
His eyes turned cold as he wiped the corner of his mouth. This was the greatest provocation against the Huaxia people. He wanted to see Zuo Ci's anger, to witness that fierce and twisted expression before torturing him to death. It was his favorite pastime, especially when it came to the Huaxia people; he was particularly obsessed with it.
He firmly believed that Eastern Japan was the greatest nation in the world, while Huaxia was merely a humble servant that had stolen its glorious legacy. Yet now, this servant dared to rise up and claim dominance. This thought displeased him greatly.
"Are you done talking?" Zuo Ci looked at this man oddly. "If you’re finished, then just go die already—stop babbling!"
"Die already, you lunatic! What’s there to boast about in killing? Haven’t you ever killed anyone?"
A black hand emerged grotesquely from beneath Meiyan Qing's feet, reaching for Qing's forehead.
"Kami-sama," Qing said calmly, glancing at the gray-blue Raccoon Cat on his shoulder and bowing respectfully.
Meow.
The two-tailed Raccoon Cat lazily stretched its body and then let out a piercing yowl. At that moment, the black hand froze in mid-air, and the spirits forming it revealed expressions of fear as if they had encountered some kind of monster.
The Raccoon Cat opened its mouth and gently inhaled, drawing in the wandering souls, revealing a look of enjoyment that was almost human.
What was this?
The Raccoon Cat, with its forked tail, was one of Japan's Nine Great Evil Gods, a Nekomata. In Eastern Mythology, the Nekomata is depicted as a black cat with two tails, large pointed ears, and serrated teeth, classified as a type of Cat Demon. It is said that having two tails allows it to walk upright.
The earliest mention of the Nekomata can be found in the "Eastern Supernatural Chronicles." Typically, a Nekomata is an old cat that has lived for many years, with its most distinctive feature being the forked tails. The greater the demonic power, the more pronounced the fork becomes. In dim lighting, the middle part of a Nekomata’s back glows; an exceptional Nekomata appears purely as a two-tailed cat, and encountering one is no trivial matter.
They are extremely ferocious, with sharp teeth that can tear apart other beasts in the mountains and devour them, while also posing a threat to humans and livestock. Additionally, they can manipulate corpses like puppets through their demonic powers.
Thus, in ancient times, residents of Anjing would cut off the tips of kittens' tails, leaving only short stubs to prevent them from growing into Cat Demons that could wreak havoc at home.
A Chinese Person exclaimed, "Who dares to cast a Curse Technique upon the noble ambassador of Eastern Japan? I might spare you; after all, your country is quite powerful now. I have no desire to stir up trouble before the Dragon Hunt begins, even if you are weak!"
Qing looked at Zuo Ci with surprise, thinking that the previous spell was his strongest. He said disdainfully, "Spare me?"
Zuo Ci replied somewhat perplexedly.
"Yes!" Qing nodded proudly. "Your Shu Fa is nothing to speak of. That guy was simply too despicable to merge three types of Curse Techniques into one. Even the famous Exorcist from Siam couldn't unravel it in a short time; he must die!"
Suddenly, Zuo Ci burst into laughter.
