In ancient texts, it is said that peach wood, known as Wu Mu Jing, is effective in suppressing evil spirits. The essence of peach wood can create a Ghost Gate and control the Hyakki. Just as a centipede possesses deadly poison, a rooster can consume it.
Da Huo is powerful, extinguished instantly upon contact with water. The ability of peach wood to repel ghosts and ward off evil is based on this principle. The "Notes on the Sand Bow" states that holding a peach branch can drive away malevolent spirits. The "Zuo Zhuan" records that peach bows and thorn arrows are used to eliminate disasters.
In ancient Chinese mythology, there is said to be a world known as the Ghost Realm, where a mountain stands with a Big Peach Tree covering three thousand areas. At the top of the tree resides a Golden Rooster, which crows each morning, causing wandering spirits to hasten back to the Ghost Realm.
The entrance to the Ghost Realm is located at the northeast of the peach tree. Two Shen Ren stand guard by the door, named Shentu and Yu Lei. If any spirit commits heinous acts during the night, Shentu and Yu Lei will immediately detect and capture it, binding it with ropes made by Mang Wei and feeding it to tigers. All spirits in the world fear Shentu and Yu Lei.
Thus, people carve their likenesses from peach wood and place them at their doorsteps to ward off evil and prevent harm. The authentic Peach Wood Sword is crafted from Thunderstrike Wood, infused with the might of heavenly thunder, causing ghosts to submit and deities to revere.
However, the Peach Wood Sword held by the Old Daoist emanates Yin Qi. This particular sword is peculiar; its material is Yin Chen Mu, also known as Shui Chen Mu. Water is the source of Precelestial Yin Essence and Yin Qi. Wood soaked in water becomes an exceptional Ultimate Yin Artifact.
The Old Daoist's intentions are sinister; he uses water sourced from Corpse Water that is about to transform into Mao Jiang for crafting Yin Chen Mu. Mao Jiang is despised by both gods and ghosts, carrying heavy grievances that can enhance the Sha Qi of Yin Chen Mu.
With a flick of his finger, the Old Daoist commands: "Hurry!" A bolt of Azure Black lightning strikes down from the void. Zuo Ci snaps his fingers, summoning a fierce Human-Faced Ghost that opens its wide mouth and shatters the lightning bolt. Is he summoning the Yin Thunder?
Zuo Ci said lightly, "The methods of the Daoist are truly beyond my expectations. People only know that the Five Thunder Rites are extremely difficult to master, but they do not realize that the Yin Thunder Technique is even harder."
The old Daoist chuckled ominously, "Rise!"
A round moon, shrouded in ethereal clouds, hung high in the sky, appearing almost unreal as if viewed through a layer of blurred glass. The cold white moonlight seemed to drip down from the Jiu Tian like wet stains.
Mao Moon!
There is a saying in folklore: when the Mao Moon appears, even the Bodhisattvas must close their eyes. It symbolizes disaster and ominous signs.
Wailing sounds echoed as thick, dark mist swept across the land, obscuring vision completely. The Red and White Double Killers grew increasingly boisterous, while Yin Sha Qi began to condense into something tangible.
How delightful!
Zuo Ci let out a soothing groan. It had been a long time since he had cultivated in such rich Yin Qi.
This spell is quite impressive; it vaguely resembles Shen Tong's techniques. Is this a hidden treasure from my predecessor? Zuo Ci praised.
The old Daoist chuckled, his eyes narrowing with a grin that didn't quite reach his face. "Daoist Zuo should be grateful that you broke through Poor Dao's formation before saying such things."
He continued without hesitation, "The red Bai Sha refined by Lao Fu approaches the ultimate level of extreme Yin and extreme Sha. Coupled with the amplification from this Mao Moon, even the Mao Shan Heavenly Lord would have a headache!"
"Rest assured!" Zuo Ci licked his lips. "I won't let my senior down!"
