Sang Yu looked at her body covered in marks and groaned while covering her face. Just how intense had things been yesterday! After quickly washing up, she put on the pajamas that Lu Jing had bought for her. Ever since they got together, Lu Jing had bought a few sets to keep at his place.
As Sang Yu emerged from the room, Lu Jing was just finishing heating up the food. "Why didn’t you dry your hair?" he asked, walking over to take her hand and guiding her to sit on the sofa. The room wasn’t cold, and it would dry on its own after a while. During the heating season, the air inside was quite dry, so Sang Yu preferred not to blow-dry her hair.
"Maybe just a little," she thought, noticing that her hair was still dripping. Lu Jing turned around to grab the hairdryer.
Sang Yu comfortably closed her eyes, enjoying being pampered. "Alright, let’s eat," Lu Jing said, stopping after drying her hair halfway. "Blowing it too dry isn’t good for your hair."
"You really know your stuff!" Sang Yu remarked.
"I used to be quite the delicate boy myself!" Lu Jing replied with a smile.
"Is it the same private kitchen as last time?" Sang Yu asked, glancing at two dishes she had enjoyed before.
"Yes, let’s see if you still like them." He ordered two dishes that Sang Yu had mentioned liking last time and added two more.
"Mmm, delicious." Sang Yu thought every dish from this place was fantastic.
"As long as you like it." Lu Jing continued to serve her food, as if it had become a habit for him.
After finishing their meal, Sang Yu lazily lay back on the sofa, one hand rubbing her stomach. Don’t say she was lacking ambition; she was genuinely hungry. Plus, the food was so good that she had accidentally overeaten.
"My mom called yesterday and said the engagement dress is ready. When should we go try it on?"
"Do you provide engagement dresses too?" Sang Yu asked in surprise. Just a few days ago, her mother had called urging her to find time to buy one. She had originally planned to go with Lin Yue that weekend.
"Didn’t I tell you before? You don’t need to prepare anything; just show up when the time comes."
"I wanted to find someone to make it for you, but my mom insisted on handling it herself. Seeing how enthusiastic she was, I didn’t want to take that away from her."
"So your dress is custom-made too?" Sang Yu asked hesitantly.
"Yes, some are custom-made and some are from brands," Lu Jing nodded. When he was younger, most of his clothes were brand-name purchases; it was only after the New Year that his mother started having them custom-made for him.
Sang Yu awkwardly chuckled, unsure of what else to say. Rich people really were extravagant; while she could only afford a few cheap clothes online, they were wearing custom-made outfits—there was simply no comparison.
"From now on, you should also make custom clothes for me."
Sang Yu hurriedly waved her hands. "No, no, I'm fine with the clothes I usually buy."
Seeing her flustered, he reassured her, "It's not like I'm asking you to make everything custom; most of it you'll still need to buy yourself." He knew that women loved shopping, just like her mother and his Sister-in-law, who often went out to buy clothes for themselves and their husbands. As for him, he felt quite pitiful; the clothes they bought for him were few and far between.
"Wife, you have to buy me clothes in the future too, just like my mom and Sister-in-law do." Lu Jing recounted the situation to Sang Yu, who couldn't help but laugh. It seemed that getting along with her future mother-in-law and family would be quite entertaining.
He thought about how his dad and older brother would show off when they received clothes from their wives. Just imagining their smug faces made Lu Jing grit his teeth in frustration. Soon enough, he would also have a wife and wouldn't have to endure their teasing anymore.
