The massive dragon head loomed over them, its meaning unclear. "Oh, you know of the Dongting Lake Dragon Lord, right? He is the one we have conferred in Da Li."
"Indeed, our relationship with the dragon clan is quite good."
"We must also thank the Dragon King for helping us eliminate this monster."
"Absolutely, absolutely! It’s all thanks to the Dragon King!" Several old men displayed sycophantic smiles, eager to please.
Hei Jiao was taken aback by the dragon clan's fearsome reputation, which had these old immortals fawning over them. A chill ran through him as he heightened his vigilance towards the dragon clan; he had a feeling that he would inevitably confront them one day.
It seemed he had underestimated the Dongting Lake Dragon Lord, who had been quite low-key in his demeanor.
Snapping back to reality, Hei Jiao's dragon eyes glinted with amusement. "Well then, you might as well kill yourselves. I actually came here to kill you."
"What?"
"Please, don’t joke like that!"
The group fell silent for a moment before their faces turned pale with disbelief as they stared at Jiao Long. The tallest of the old men took a step back and suddenly turned to flee.
"Run!" he shouted desperately.
At that moment, a whistling sound pierced the air. The old man had barely escaped when—bang!—he was struck by a black dragon tail, exploding into a mist of blood that filled the sky, a horrifying sight.
The remaining three old men screamed in terror.
"It’s your turn now," Hei Jiao's voice rumbled ominously.
With a roar of Long Yin, Long Wei was fully unleashed. The dragon lunged toward the three men. Two dragon claws seized the heads of two old men, while a sweeping dragon tail obliterated the last one.
Hei Jiao transformed into human form, his face alight with excitement. "Strong! Truly too strong!"
The golden light that descended from the heavens was indeed a manifestation of merit, which had dramatically boosted his strength. It was surprising how easily he had dealt with four Ren Xian experts.
Not far away, on the roof of the palace, stood three figures: Black Mountain Old Demon, Cui Pan, and Lu Pan. All three were dumbfounded. Black Mountain Old Demon swallowed hard and remarked, "My younger brother seems even stronger now. Killing Ren Xian is like slaughtering dogs."
Lu Pan's face turned pale. "What a monster! How did he cultivate? Is the Dragon Clan really this powerful?"
Cui Pan's eyes flickered as he felt a renewed determination within himself; he was certain he could lead them back. Initially, he had felt uneasy about being summoned by Hei Jiao to assist in killing, but now he was eager to help even more.
"Let's go," Cui Pan said, taking the lead as he flew toward Hei Jiao.
"Brother, how did you become so strong? I can hardly recognize you!" Black Mountain Old Demon exclaimed anxiously.
Hei Jiao chuckled lightly. "Oh, I just had a stroke of luck and gained a bit of strength. It's nothing worth mentioning."
Hearing this, the corners of the three men's mouths twitched. For them, such an insignificant boost in power would be a dream come true.
"Ahem, we have already eliminated all the Yuan Shen Realm beings in the forbidden area. The Great Li Royal Family is practically nonexistent now," Cui Pan said, his expression growing serious.
He looked at Hei Jiao and added, "It seems that chaos is about to ensue."
Hei Jiao nodded slightly. "The more chaotic it gets, the better. The world must unite after a long period of division; this is the trend of events. We are merely accelerating the process."
