Hei Jiao sneered, "You really aren't afraid of offending anyone, are you?"
Cui Pan sighed, "Don't underestimate the Da Li Royal Family. There are still a few old fossils among them, and their strength should not be taken lightly." A serious expression crossed his face as he spoke.
Hei Jiao narrowed his eyes, assessing the strength of Cui Pan and the others.
Cui Pan pondered for a moment, "At least they have the strength after crossing the tribulation; they definitely have Ren Xian level capabilities."
Hei Jiao shook his head. "Is that all they have?"
Cui Pan was taken aback. "Did you not hear what I said? There are at least three Ren Xian among them. That's why Da Li can suppress the world."
"I heard you," Hei Jiao replied, his expression still calm.
Cui Pan looked at Hei Jiao with uncertainty. Where was he getting his confidence from?
Hei Jiao smiled slightly. "It's fine; just leave them to me. A few Old Immortals won't be a problem."
Cui Pan was even more shocked now. He could see Hei Jiao's strength, which was merely at the Ren Xian level as well. How could he be so confident?
"Heishui," Cui Pan warned, "This is no joke. If Da Li is determined to invade Difu, even that Dragon Qi would be enough for us to drink a pot of."
Cui Pan frowned; he had to remind Hei Jiao of the seriousness of the situation.
Hei Jiao chuckled, "Don't worry, Cui Pan. I won't act recklessly."
Cui Pan felt somewhat helpless, but since he had already made up his mind about Hei Jiao, he could only take it one step at a time.
Suddenly, Hei Jiao's expression changed slightly as he coldly snorted. "Cui Pan, I have something to attend to; I must leave now." With that, he stood up and stepped forward, disappearing from sight.
Cui Pan was left stunned. What happened? Why was he in such a hurry to leave?
In the capital, inside the imperial palace's study, the Eldest Prince glared angrily at the old emperor.
"Do you dare to lay a hand on me?" she exclaimed, both shocked and furious. She never expected that being summoned to the palace would mean being targeted.
The old emperor looked at the Elder Princess with an icy gaze. "Of course I won't lay a hand on you. If you go to the forbidden area now, I guarantee your safety."
The Eldest Prince turned to look at the national master blocking the doorway. "National Master, are you sure you want to help him?"
"Amitabha," Prince Changgong said, "Of course, this humble monk will heed Your Majesty's command." Pudu Cihang pressed his palms together and spoke calmly.
The Eldest Prince was not alone; Guan Mama stood in front of her, her tone anxious. "Your Highness, what should we do now?"
The Eldest Prince cast a wary glance at Pudu Cihang. She was well aware of the demon's strength; even if she called upon Guan Mama, she would not be a match for him. Moreover, there was a hunchbacked eunuch standing beside the Emperor, someone she recognized as the Emperor's strongest force, who typically would not intervene. Now, to deal with her, the Emperor had revealed all his cards.
Taking a deep breath, the Eldest Prince calmed herself. She thought of the Xiao Qing Mansion and its defenses. Although still concerned, her urgency had lessened.
"Are you planning to harm those in my residence?" the Eldest Prince asked coldly.
The old Emperor smirked, clearly pleased. "Ha ha! I didn't expect that not only do you have a son, but also a daughter."
Then his expression darkened. "You have hidden your secrets deeper than I imagined."
"Hmph! If I had known this back then, I wouldn't have supported you. You turned out to be such a cunning wolf," the Eldest Prince retorted with a cold snort.
Bang! The old Emperor slammed his palm on the table in anger. "Here we go again! You keep saying that; my rise to power is my own business—what does it have to do with you?" His fury was palpable, and he looked as if he wished he could strike her down with his gaze.
