Black Mountain Old Demon sighed in relief but shot a fierce glare at the Dragon Lord before both of them strode out. No one dared to stop them. The Dragon Lord watched their retreating figures with an unpredictable expression, lost in thought.
Bai Mei also stood up. "Dragon Lord, I won't disturb you any longer."
The Dragon Lord merely nodded in response. Soon after, other demons began to take their leave as well.
Once everyone else had departed, the Dragon Lord's face finally darkened completely. Hmph! A mere book dares to commit murder in my Dragon Palace? The killing intent erupted from the Dragon Lord's body, causing everyone present to shudder and kneel down in fear.
The Chancellor hurriedly stepped forward to calm the Dragon Lord's anger. At that moment, a demon below suddenly stood up and declared that he was willing to kill Qin Feng. The other demons quickly reacted, cursing the cowardice of the one who had spoken up, and they too began shouting to go after Qin Feng.
This was the feeling of united enmity, a collective surge of hostility. The Dragon Lord cast a cold glance at them. Where were their bravado and courage when Black Mountain Old Demon was present? The Chancellor's eyes flickered as he slowly replied to the Dragon Lord. It was evident that Black Mountain had already placed a bet on Qin Feng. If they killed Qin Feng, Black Mountain would surely be displeased.
"Hmph, so what? Do they really think I fear Black Mountain?" the Dragon Lord said with dissatisfaction.
The Chancellor quickly added, "Of course not, but for just one book, it’s not worth it to make an enemy of Black Mountain. After all, we also need to prepare for the Dragon Contest."
The Chancellor was against killing Qin Feng anyway, especially since Qinghe Water Lord was already dead. The Dragon Lord frowned; he knew that what the Chancellor said was right, yet he felt uneasy about it.
The Chancellor cautiously glanced at the Dragon Lord, aware of where his discomfort lay. "When the time comes for the Dragon Contest, we can deal with them then. At that point, Black Mountain will have nothing to say."
The Dragon Lord's eyes brightened as he felt a surge of happiness.
