The Gui Chancellor had long been waiting at the entrance of the Dragon Palace, a gentle smile gracing his face. As the people disembarked from the ship and faced him, they were filled with awe.
With a smile, the Gui Chancellor addressed them, "This is the Dragon Palace. Please follow me; the Dragon Lord is waiting for you."
The group remained quiet, pulling out their reading materials, seemingly eager to make a good impression. They followed the Gui Chancellor into the Dragon Palace, where they were immediately awestruck by its grandeur, their eyes wide as they took in their surroundings, becoming even more cautious.
Zhu Fang couldn't help but swallow hard. "Is this really the Dragon Palace? So many treasures!" Even Nie Rong, usually composed, felt a stir of excitement within him. If only these treasures could be used for the old surname's benefit.
Of course, he could only think about it; the Dragon Lord and Da Li were merely partners in this venture. Qin Feng entered at a leisurely pace from behind.
As soon as he stepped inside, he spotted Black Python sitting next to the Black Mountain Old Demon. The two were essentially one and the same, which felt rather strange to him.
The hall quickly became lively as these demons and monsters eyed the scholars with glinting eyes, some even revealing hints of greed. However, this was the Dragon Lord's territory, and they had no choice but to suppress their desires. To them, these scholars were nothing short of delicacies.
The scholars sensed the malice emanating from the demons; some turned pale with fear. Others tried to appear calm, but their darting eyes betrayed their unease.
Suddenly, someone stood up to the left of the Dragon Lord. "You killed my subordinate? How dare you come to the Dragon Palace!" The tone was filled with shock and anger.
Everyone turned to look at him. He wore a blue robe and had a golden scale on his forehead, glaring intently at Qin Feng.
The Qinghe Water Lord had merely glanced over casually but was taken aback when he sensed a familiar aura from Qin Feng. In an instant, he recognized it—wasn't that the aura of his deceased subordinate? He had thought he would never find this person again; little did he know he would come to the Dragon Palace.
Qin Feng was momentarily stunned before slowly rising to assess Qinghe Water Lord from a distance. "Qinghe Water Lord?"
The Qinghe Water Lord paused for a moment, then a sinister smile spread across his face. "So you know me. Did you realize he was one of my people when you killed him?"
Qin Feng nodded. "Yes, I knew."
Everyone was taken aback; he had just admitted it so readily.
The scholars looked at Qin Feng in horror, hurriedly distancing themselves from him. It was better to stay away from someone who had offended a demon.
Nie Rong and the others grew tense. Zhu Fang's face turned pale. "Brother Qin, is it really the Qinghe Water Lord?"
Qin Feng nodded slightly and then coldly addressed the Qinghe Water Lord. "If he dares to harm others, I dare to kill him. What's the problem with that?"
The Qinghe Water Lord was taken aback; he hadn't expected Qin Feng to be so arrogant in front of him.
A flash of murderous intent crossed his eyes as he suddenly turned to the Dragon Lord and bowed. "Dragon Lord, my subordinate wants to kill him."
The scholars gasped in shock. Was someone really about to be killed? They hadn’t realized that attending the Dragon Palace Banquet could be so dangerous.
The Dragon Lord frowned; he certainly didn’t want to see bloodshed in the Dragon Palace. If that happened, who would dare come next time?
Qin Feng grinned. "You want to kill me? Well, I also want to deal with you as a problem."
At this statement, the hall fell silent, everyone staring at Qin Feng as if he were a fool. Was this scholar seeking death?
The Qinghe Water Lord was now completely enraged, turning to glare fiercely at Qin Feng.
