Clearly, they didn't believe him. What he had just said was not about this. Qin Feng seemed unwilling to elaborate, and they didn't dare to press further.
"Hmph, kid, let me tell you, stay away from the demons. Don't let them use you," Yan Chixia said coldly, frowning as he strapped his sword case back on.
Qin Feng raised an eyebrow. "It seems like you're concerned about my survival? I suppose that means I've saved your life."
Yan Chixia's expression stiffened, and he stammered, "Is that so?"
Qin Feng smiled playfully. "What do you think?"
Coughing slightly, Yan Chixia muttered in frustration, "It's just a coincidence." Then he looked at Qin Feng and added, "Consider it a life debt."
Qin Feng nodded. "Alright, I'll remember that."
Yan Chixia finally turned his gaze toward Qin Feng's Red Longsword, looking puzzled. "How does a scholar like you manage to control Sha Qi and shape it into a sword?"
Qin Feng chuckled. "It's quite simple. These Sha Qi are very obedient; they can take any form I desire." He demonstrated with the Red Longsword, trying out various shapes like spears and halberds.
Yan Chixia felt exasperated enough to spit blood. "Simple my foot! I've only seen you use Sha Qi like this."
At that moment, Zhu Fang anxiously called out, "Brother Qin, we need to hurry! What if the demons change their minds and come back?"
Yan Chixia suddenly changed his expression. "Oh no! I forgot about him!"
With that, he leaped into the air on his long sword.
Seeing this, Qin Feng turned to Nie Rong and Nie Shu. "Let's go."
Nie Rong nodded; he was eager to leave this place after being thoroughly frightened moments ago.
Just as everyone boarded the cart, Yan Chixia flew back down, holding someone in his grasp who was screaming in fright.
Qin Feng sat on the Ox Cart with a strange look in his eyes. "Hmm? Ning Brother?"
"Yan Brother, let me go! I need to save Xiao Die! Please let me go!" Ning Caichen shouted as Yan Chixia brought him down to the ground.
Yan Chixia retorted impatiently, "Scholar, have you lost your mind? That's a female ghost! She's here to harm you!"
Ning Caichen scrambled up and grabbed Yan Chixia's arm desperately. "Yan Brother, Xiao Die is different! She's a good ghost! Please, you have to go back and save her; otherwise, she'll be punished by the Tree Demon!"
Yan Chixia snorted coldly. "Not a chance! Scholar, you've been bewitched by that female ghost."
Ning Caichen's eyes were filled with disappointment. "Hehe, Brother Ning, what are you up to?"
A familiar voice reached his ears, and he paused for a moment before turning to see the familiar Ox Cart before him.
"Brother Qin!" Ning Caichen exclaimed with wild joy, his voice rising in pitch.
At that moment, he couldn't care less about Yan Chixia. He dashed over to Qin Feng, excitement bubbling within him. "Brother Qin, please help me! You have to help me this time!"
Qin Feng's eyes glimmered with a strange light. "Have you fallen for a ghost?"
Ning Caichen was momentarily taken aback, his face flushing a rare shade of red. "Uh, that... that..."
Just then, the curtain of the cart lifted, and Nie Xiaoqian and Qin Wan'er poked their heads out, their eyes sparkling with curiosity. The flames of gossip ignited within them. A love story between a human and a ghost? Wasn't that just scandalous?
Nie Rong and Zhu Fang also looked on in surprise. Zhu Fang couldn't help but exclaim, "Brother Ning, you can't be serious! You'd rather like a ghost than a living person? How could that even lead to having children?"
Seeing Zhu Fang present only made Ning Caichen's face turn even redder. He quickly waved his hands in denial. "No, no! It's not what you think! I just feel sorry for her and want to save her!"
