As soon as the words left his mouth, Qin Feng vanished from sight. With a faint sound, he reappeared behind the demon, slowly sheathing his longsword. The blade was still clean, untouched by blood.
The demon's eyes widened in shock at how fast it had happened. It raised a claw to touch its neck, and in an instant, a line of blood appeared there. With a thud, its head fell to the ground and bounced twice.
Nie Rong's eyes widened; this was the first time he had seen Qin Feng in action, and he was astonished by his strength. One sword stroke to behead a Great Demon—it was truly impressive.
"Wow, that's amazing!" Nie Xiaoqian couldn't help but cheer. This was far more shocking than killing a Blood Corpse, as Blood Corpses were rare, while they had heard of Great Demons before.
Nie Rong smiled as he watched Qin Feng approach. "Xian Zhi, your strength is truly remarkable. Have you considered joining Zhen Mo Si?"
Qin Feng shook his head. "Nie Shu, Zhen Mo Si isn't suitable for me."
"Well, that's good," Nie Rong replied seriously. "Zhen Mo Si is too dangerous." He didn't push Qin Feng to join Zhen Mo Si, especially since he would be his future son-in-law.
Then his expression turned grave. "We need to leave quickly. I didn't expect that Tree Demon to target Nie Xiaoqian."
Qin Feng looked up and slightly shook his head. "It's already here."
"Huh?" Nie Rong exclaimed in surprise, hurriedly glancing up at the sky.
In the distance, a massive cloud of darkness rolled in, blocking out the sun. Before long, Guobei County was engulfed in darkness, as if night had fallen prematurely.
"This is bad," Nie Rong said in alarm.
The others were equally frightened; the ominous atmosphere surrounding Guobei County was chilling.
Everyone instinctively looked towards Qin Feng. "Xian Zhi," Nie Rong said solemnly, "if things get out of hand, you take Nie Xiaoqian and run."
"Dad!" Nie Xiaoqian's face turned pale as she rushed to her father's side, gripping his arm tightly with tears welling in her eyes.
Qin Feng felt somewhat exasperated and shook his head. "Nie Shu, it's not that serious—it's just one Tree Demon."
Just then, a burst of laughter echoed through the air as a group of lively little ghosts skipped into the county office and surrounded them.
Then colorful mist poured out, revealing several female ghosts who flirtatiously approached Qin Feng and the others.
Zhu Fang's eyes instantly glazed over as she involuntarily stepped forward.
Seeing this, Qin Feng drew his longsword and gave her a light tap on the back to pull her back.
Zhu Fang shivered, suddenly waking up to the unusual expressions on everyone's faces, panic rising within him. What just happened?
Qin Feng shook his head. "Don't look at those female ghosts; be careful or your soul might be drawn away."
Zhu Fang's face paled as he hurriedly lowered his head, resolute not to look again, even if it meant death.
Nie Rong felt much better, casting a disdainful glance at the female ghosts. As for the girls, the allure of these spirits had no effect on them.
Qin Feng's expression turned cold. "Tree Demon, sending these ugly creatures against me is futile."
With that, he hurled his sword into the air. Sha Qi erupted, transforming in an instant into hundreds of fine swords that accurately pierced the bodies of the female ghosts and minor spirits.
In a split second, all the apparitions turned into a cloud of dark mist, dissipating into the air and causing the surrounding temperature to drop slightly.
