The man from the Han Dynasty hurriedly knelt down as Qin Feng entered. "Please, you have to save them! I know you must have a way, right?" He pleaded, looking at Qin Feng as if he were grasping at the last straw.
Qin Feng's expression remained calm as he suddenly reached out and grasped at the two individuals. With a swift motion, two wisps of black energy were pulled out and flew into his sleeve. The Black Snake slithered out from Qin Feng's arm and swallowed the two wisps of black energy before retreating back.
At that moment, the woman and child’s faces began to regain their color. The man stared in disbelief at this scene, realizing he had encountered someone extraordinary.
"You’re lucky. If you had waited any longer, the Ghostly Energy would have seeped into their bones, and even a deity couldn't save them," Qin Feng remarked with a hint of emotion.
The man turned to look at the two who were regaining their vitality and joyfully bowed to Qin Feng, thanking him profusely for saving their lives.
"Get up," Qin Feng waved his hand. "It’s not over yet."
The man was startled. "Isn’t it already done?"
Qin Feng shook his head, surveying the surroundings. "How did they come into contact with the Ghostly Energy? You have a ghost in your home, don’t you?"
"What?" The man trembled in fear, staring at Qin Feng in horror. "How could that be possible?" Yet he had no choice but to believe it, for he had clearly seen those two wisps of black energy just moments ago.
Qin Feng sniffed the air and suddenly turned his gaze toward a specific direction. The man cautiously followed his gaze.
There hung an old, yellowed painting depicting a child wearing a bellyband, looking adorably naive and quite charming.
"Is there something wrong with this painting? No, it’s been here for years; I found it. Back then, I didn’t have any children and thought the painting had good meaning, so I hung it up. Later on, I had Hu Zi," the man rambled on as Qin Feng slowly approached the painting.
As Qin Feng stood before it, his eyes narrowed. "Come out!" he commanded, releasing a hint of Dragon Might.
Although the Black Snake had not yet transformed into a True Dragon, its core was imbued with earth dragon energy and naturally carried some Dragon Might, albeit faintly.
The man was so frightened by this command that he immediately fell silent.
At that moment, the child in the painting blinked, and its eyes turned black. Suddenly, a wisp of black energy shot out from the painting.
"Who told you to meddle? You're asking for death." A hoarse and unpleasant voice emerged from the black mist.
The temperature around dropped instantly, causing the burly man to shiver violently, his eyes wide with terror as he stared at the dark cloud. He realized that there truly were ghosts in his home.
Suddenly, an angry bellow of a bull echoed outside, followed by a thunderous crash as the Black Bull charged in, smashing the door to pieces.
With bloodshot eyes, the Black Bull glared at the black mist, snorting white smoke from its nostrils.
By this time, quite a few people had gathered outside, each straining their necks to peer into the room.
Qin Feng rubbed his forehead in exasperation; this foolish creature had just barged right in.
The black mist reacted violently to the Black Bull's presence, swirling chaotically before an ugly old woman materialized in the air.
Qin Feng glanced at the painting on the wall; the child was still depicted within it, indicating that it was not related to the painting but rather that this old woman had taken residence there.
"Ah! A ghost!"
The onlookers outside were all terrified by the sight of the old woman, their legs turning to jelly as they collapsed onto the ground. Some fainted outright from sheer fright.
