As Jing Chen and Yan Qing finished speaking, the Lion Ability User charged towards Drui Feng, unleashing a torrent of flames at the flock of crows in the sky.
The flames were intensely hot, instantly engulfing the crows. The birds struggled within the fire, emitting piercing cries. Before long, the flock was defeated, plummeting from the sky.
One crow fell straight down from mid-air, smoke rising from its dark body as it transformed back into human form. It looked silently at Drui Feng, who was approaching step by step. "What do you mean by this? Why hit so hard?"
Drui Feng sincerely apologized, "I'm sorry, I might have gone a bit overboard. Brother, you should go treat your injuries first; I'll cover the medical expenses."
The Crow Shaman turned away, refusing to look at him.
Drui Feng gathered lightning in his hands and shattered the badge on the crow's chest, sending it away through a teleportation.
In Jing Chen's team, the Plant Esper extended countless vines from their sleeves, spreading towards Jiang Wenyu. With a wave of their hands, even more vines surged from the ground, intertwining with Jiang Wenyu's vines to become thicker and more resilient.
The vines quickly wrapped around the Spider Esper, binding her tightly and rendering her immobile.
The Spider Esper transformed back into human form—a slender woman who shouted angrily towards Jing Chen, "What do you mean, Jing Chen? Are you working together?"
Jing Chen remained silent, a mysterious smile on his face.
Seeing that Ice Shard was about to shatter her badge, the woman anxiously exclaimed, "We can cooperate too, Jing Chen!"
Jing Chen turned away. "Too late."
In the next moment, Ice Shard shattered the badge on the Spider Esper's chest, and a flash of white light signaled her teleportation out of the examination area.
Upon seeing the spider being sent away, the Crocodile Esper immediately approached Jiang Ming. He opened his massive jaws and unleashed a powerful stream of water that merged with Jiang Ming's Ice Shard, solidifying around the giant python.
Then he charged violently at the giant python, using his hardened body to smash its badge.
"Whoosh."
The giant python was also teleported away.
The last person, seeing his teammates being teleported one after another, immediately turned to flee.
However, Yan Qing and Jing Chen had already noticed his movements and positioned themselves in his escape route.
As he turned around, he was met with the smiling faces of Jing Chen and Yan Qing, filled with terror. He wanted to break free but found himself powerless.
In response, Yan Qing and Jing Chen exchanged grins, while Drui Feng rushed over from behind and knocked him unconscious.
With the defeat of this team, they transformed back into their human forms. The badge detectors on their chests were destroyed one by one. A flash of light enveloped them as they were teleported out of the area.
A voice echoed from the sky: "Team 039 has failed the mission. The entire team has lost qualification and has been teleported out of the examination area."
As that team was sent out of the examination grounds, the tense atmosphere on the battlefield temporarily eased.
Jiang Ming leaped down from a branch and joined Yan Qing and Drui Feng, standing alongside Jing Chen and the others.
Yan Qing looked at Jing Chen and nodded slightly, saying, "Thank you for your assistance."
Jing Chen adjusted his Golden Wire Glasses, a faint smile appearing on his lips. "No need to be polite; it's merely a matter of mutual benefit. The road ahead will likely hold many troubles."
Jiang Ming nodded in agreement. "Indeed, this examination will be fraught with challenges. If we can continue to cooperate, we might stand a better chance."
Lion, the Ability User, crossed his arms and gruffly remarked, "Hmph, that depends on whether you have the strength to work with us."
Drui Feng bristled at this comment. "Hey, don't underestimate us; we're not pushovers."
Jiang Wenyu shot a glance at Jing Chen without speaking but his eyes revealed a hint of defiance.
As the group deliberated, a sudden disturbance echoed from a distance.
The ground trembled slightly, as if some colossal creature was approaching. The crowd immediately became alert, each preparing their Psychic Abilities.
Moments later, a gigantic Pangolin emerged from the ground. Its scales shimmered with a metallic sheen, appearing indestructible. As soon as the Pangolin appeared, it charged towards the group at incredible speed.
Jing Chen's gaze sharpened as he quickly said, "Lion, you and that guy with the gun handle the Pangolin's frontal assault. Plant Esper, use your vines to assist them and make sure to protect yourself. Giant Crocodile, you and Ice Elemental User attack from the side and look for the Pangolin's weak points. I will observe the situation with this one..." He glanced at Yan Qing, "and be ready to provide support."
The situation unfolded suddenly, and without time to think further, everyone immediately followed Jing Chen's orders.
Lion let out a roar and transformed into a massive Lion, lunging at the Pangolin.
Drui Feng was equally undeterred, raising his UZI submachine gun and firing paint-marked bullets at the Pangolin. Plant Esper and Jiang Wenyu waved their hands, causing countless vines to erupt from the ground, wrapping around the Pangolin's limbs in an attempt to restrict its movement.
Jiang Ming summoned Ice Shards and attacked the Pangolin from the side alongside Giant Crocodile. The Giant Crocodile opened its massive jaws and bit towards the Pangolin's tail while Jiang Ming's Ice Shards pierced toward its abdomen.
Yan Qing and Jing Chen stood nearby, closely monitoring the battlefield.
Yan Qing frowned and said, "The Pangolin's scales are too tough; ordinary attacks are unlikely to inflict damage."
Jing Chen nodded slightly. "Exactly. We need to find a way to identify its weak points."
Suddenly, Jing Chen's eyes lit up. "Look! Its eyes—there are no scales protecting them; perhaps that's its weakness."
Yan Qing immediately shouted to everyone on the battlefield, "Aim for its eyes!"
Upon hearing Yan Qing's words, Lion and Drui Feng quickly adjusted their attacks toward the Pangolin's eyes with bites and gunfire.
Plant Esper and Jiang Wenyu also used vines to secure the Pangolin's head, preventing it from dodging their attacks.
Seizing the opportunity, Jiang Ming and Giant Crocodile intensified their assault to draw the Pangolin's attention. Finally, through their coordinated efforts, Lion successfully pounced on the Pangolin's eyes, inflicting wounds. The Pangolin let out a roar of pain and thrashed wildly in madness.
But the crowd did not give it a chance to breathe.
Taking advantage of the moment, Jiang Ming summoned more Ice Shard, completely freezing the body of the Pangolin. The giant crocodile then used its immense strength to shatter the frozen Pangolin. As the Pangolin's body broke apart, a flash of light appeared, and the Pangolin vanished.
A voice echoed from the broadcast: "Team 045 has successfully defeated the Pangolin and earned score rewards."
Everyone let out a sigh of relief, their faces showing a mix of exhaustion and excitement.
Jing Chen looked at the group and said, "It seems we were dealing with a lone member. This collaboration was very successful; I hope we can continue to work together in the upcoming exams."
Yan Qing nodded, "Alright, let's work hard together and strive for good results in this A Level exam."
After that, Jing Chen and Yan Qing split into their respective teams.
Their teams had earned enough points to advance to the next round of exams. Looking at the map, they saw that their next exam location was at sea, and they first needed to head to the beach.
