A few days later, the company welcomed a new Director, rumored to be an elite talent who had studied abroad. 0

While her colleagues excitedly applauded the new Director, Yan Xiaoqi felt as if she had been struck by lightning, abruptly lifting her head. 0

Upon seeing that familiar face she despised so much, her mind went blank, once again freezing in disbelief. 0

Hearing her colleagues gather around the project Director, showering him with various flattering remarks, Yan Xiaoqi felt a wave of exasperation wash over her. She wanted to shout, "Foolish humans! You've all been deceived by him!" 0

After the meeting, Jiang Yang wore a seemingly harmless smile as he said, "Miss Yan, could you please stay behind to help me organize some materials?" 0

Yan Xiaoqi turned to leave, but Jiang Yang was quick to grab her wrist with a grip strong enough that she couldn't break free. 0

"Xiaoqi, I truly apologize for that night. You were just so adorable when you were drunk; I couldn't help myself..." He leaned closer to her ear, lowering his voice to a volume only they could hear. 0

"Shut up and let me get back to work," Yan Xiaoqi replied, her face turning crimson as if it might bleed from embarrassment and anger. 0

"Have you forgotten me? For the past five years, I haven't stopped thinking about you," Jiang Yang said, his gaze revealing a hint of deep affection as he locked eyes with her, searching for a response. 0

"I never forgot you because I never remembered you!" Yan Xiaoqi thought back to five years ago when she had desperately pursued Jiang Yang, pouring out so much emotion only for him to leave the country without a backward glance. 0

He had never once told her he liked her. This one-sided infatuation left Yan Xiaoqi utterly disillusioned with men, and Jiang Yang was someone she wanted to forget completely. 0

"You’re lying. You’ve never forgotten me, just like that night when you kept saying you loved me," Jiang Yang said, his lips brushing gently against Yan Xiaoqi's nose before kissing her lips again. This kiss was like a key, unlocking all the painful memories of that night. 0

With a sharp crack, Yan Xiaoqi used all her strength to turn Jiang Yang's face away from her. 0

Tears streaked down her cheeks as she shouted in anger and grievance, "Don’t touch me like that anymore! I already have a boyfriend!" 0

"Then bring him to meet me," Jiang Yang replied, seemingly unfazed by the pain, his eyes glinting with a hint of provocation. 0

"Why should I show him to you?" Yan Xiaoqi retorted defiantly. 0

"You’re lying. You’ve been waiting for me all along," Jiang Yang insisted stubbornly. 0

"I’ll bring him to see you this weekend!" Yan Xiaoqi bit her lip and said fiercely, as if trying to bolster her own resolve. 0

Yan Xiaoqi felt a mix of anxiety and determination as she texted Night Wind: "I ran into the guy I had a crush on five years ago, and now he says he likes me, but I hate him. I told him I have a boyfriend and I’m bringing him to meet this weekend." 0

"What should I do?" Night Wind replied quickly. 0

"Please pretend to be my boyfriend. I'm begging you, dear," Yan Xiaoqi waited eagerly for Night Wind's response. 0

After a long pause, Night Wind finally replied, "Alright then." 0

Upon seeing the name Yan Xiaoqi, an inexplicable joy surged within her. She always felt that being in a relationship or even just being friends with Ye Feng would undoubtedly be a delightful experience. 0

Just as she was about to reply with a message expressing her gratitude, her mother's call suddenly came through, and she instantly felt a headache coming on. 0

Sure enough, her mother opened with, "Sweetheart, have you found a boyfriend yet?" 0

"No," she replied. She had never been one to lie to her mother; if she did and her mother insisted on bringing someone home, it would be a complete disaster. 0

"Make sure you remember this: tomorrow night at eight o'clock, De Yue Hotel, for a blind date." Her mother's tone left no room for argument. 0

"Repeat that back to me; I’m afraid you’ll forget again," her mother insisted, still not reassured. 0

"Tomorrow night at eight o'clock, De Yue Hotel, for a blind date," Yan Xiaoqi repeated helplessly. Only then did her mother seem satisfied enough to hang up. 0

"You have a boyfriend but still need to go on a blind date?" Jiang Yang's annoying voice echoed behind her like a persistent shadow. Yan Xiaoqi shot him an irritated glare and snapped back, "None of your business!" 0
