It was yet another side quest related to the Fairy Tale Book, which took Lin Han by surprise. However, upon reflection, he thought it was a good opportunity since he still had some unfinished System Tasks in the Deputy Zone.
Di Jing was not particularly close to the area of the Fairy Tale Book, but fortunately, Lin Han had helped the Military Department with various matters recently, earning some valuable rewards in return. Among them were two teleportation scrolls that allowed him to travel freely between different regions. However, there was a drawback: these scrolls could not be used to reach places he had never visited before.
As the teleportation light flickered, Lin Han found himself at the Sub Entrance of the Fairy Tale Book. After their previous explorations, this side quest was nearly ready to be opened for the Beast Masters to begin leveling up. The soldiers from the Military Department stationed nearby were surprised to see Lin Han approach. Despite his young age, he had demonstrated exceptional performance both in competitions and in external battles.
This time, he could finally fill in the missing parts of the storyline. As Lin Han thought this, he stepped back into the familiar Deputy Zone.
In an instant, a flurry of chaotic thoughts surged and layered in his mind, and he found himself beside a massive city wall, just as people were preparing to enter the city.
At that moment, a new mission reminder appeared before him:
"Welcome to Oz Kingdom. You will play as a Veteran Hunter, invited by the townspeople to slay the lions attacking humans around the city."
"Character Dialogue: As a Veteran Hunter, your marksmanship is exceptional; you can easily kill any prey from a hundred paces away."
"Current Mission: Help Iron Man find his heart and eliminate the wizard who cursed him."
Lin Han donned the Good and Evil Mask over his face to ensure he wouldn’t be overwhelmed by the Fairy Tale Book’s magic and lose himself. This side quest required him to fight alone, so he needed to be cautious.
At that moment, not far away, a girl suddenly appeared before him, stumbling out of the city looking exhausted. Lin Han focused on her; her red shoes were already stained with blood.
Without hesitation, he rushed over. In this space, encountering anyone could potentially unlock crucial information for the quest!
"Hello! Is there something urgent you need? You’ve got blisters on your feet."
The girl in the purple dress looked at him with a bitter smile and said helplessly, "I’m Dorothy. I want to go home. I’ve been wandering in this city for over ten days but can’t find my way out."
Drawing on his memories of the storyline, Lin Han realized she was indeed the person who helped Iron Man find his heart in the original plot!
"Don’t worry; I’ll help you get home," Lin Han said with a light chuckle before asking, "Do you remember how to get back?"
"Tell me, if I follow the Yellow Brick Road all the way, I can find the Great Wizard who can grant any wish, including sending me back home!" Dorothy said, her eyes sparkling with excitement and hope.
"Then let's go find the Yellow Brick Road!" Lin Han exclaimed. But just as the words left his lips, he suddenly noticed that everything around him had lost its color. Everything in his sight, including his clothes, his hands, and even the shotgun he held, had turned to shades of gray.
